Wow - this one is a bit before my time, even thought I'm a 60s GTO guy. The Slim Jim was a nickname for the GM Roto-hydramatic. It was used in the Pontiac Catalina and Grand Prix in the early 60s, as well as Oldsmobile and other full size cars. IIRC, the shift indicator went P, N, D, 2, L, R (or something like that)
