well, the last time my pet double-breasted red horned cockatoo got stuck on the roof, i lured him down with recorded whale calls and goat hair pellets.
maybe you could use some hummingbird calls or something.

It is very difficult to get a platypus off the roof, I'm sorry to say.
First of all, figure out why it's on the roof. Perhaps it needs counciling? Go to any specialist vet and they should have a platypus psychologist handy (it's becoming a very popular career).
The psychologist will talk to your platypus and help it down slowly. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DO THIS YOURSELF. If you say the wrong thing, he could be stuck up there longer.
There's no point getting a ladder and just bringing him down, because he'll soon be up there again anyway. Plus you risk being poisioned by his spurs.
Make sure you throw food up to him until you can get him down. Good luck.
