Red Sox and Brewers Fans??

okay so if your a sox fan you must be excited to see gagne go right?? I know i am!

but if your a brewers fan are you worried that he will perform like he did in a sox uniform or do you think he goes back to being an allstar closer??

good for you to only signing him for 1yr 10 mil! Its a good call in case he has a bad season!!

I think he did bad with Boston because of the pressure of the Beamtown fans (no offense). It happens to alot of players who go play in big cities with such storied history, like the Red Sox.

He did good in Texas when he was the full time closer. In Boston, he was demoted to set up man to Jonathan Papelbon.

Now that he's a closer again, and pitching in the National League, which means no Designated Hitter to pitch to, I think he'll be able to bounce back.

I think he'll be worth the 10 million in the end. Remember, this guy once had 84 consecutive saves. He has the resume of a reliable closer.

If he stays healthy, it is a great move. Gagne will perform well playing in a smaller city as the closer, but I honestly think the Brewers are taking an unnecessary risk. Riske and Turnbow could be capable closers, and $10 million is too much to throw away on an experiment. Gagne can still be good, but his career is pretty much over, for all intents and purposes. He's had his three-year stint in the spotlight, but it's time for him to move on while he still has some dignity left. I recall him complaining about the Dodgers not winning a few years ago, saying, "We're not the bleeping Brewers." It's kind of funny how ironic fate can be.

As a Sox fan, I am glad he is leaving. Not because of his performance, but because of the unnecessary rub that he would cause in the bullpen. The guy is clearly an awesome closer...when he is the goto closer. Setting up Papelbon wasn't his game...he will fair well in Milwaukee.

the brewers should be fine, gagne did well in texas last season, he only struggled in boston, a place where a lot of people struggle

but even if he has lost it the brewers still have turnbow, riske and torres all of whom can close
