After the events of the last weekend, do you believe Oprah could run for and become America's first female president? If so, how long would she wait to run?

For me, Oprah has turned out to be a huge disappointment, and her credibility is gone. Oprah has always been a strong leader for womens rights, and plenty of women have looked up to her as a role model. For Oprah to support Obama in this election is a real slap in the face for all her women fans and supporters. The fact is that when it came right down to it, Oprah went with the race card instead of supporting a woman (Hillary) for President. I'll never view Oprah as an intelligent woman ever again.

Why not? How much more money does she need? She has more than her show now and those enterprises will continue even if she is elected. The scenario; She is testing her power to bring people to the ballot box. If Obama really takes off now then she knows she has it in her. If he tanks down the road then it does't hurt her and she goes back to TV.
It is very likely that if either Obama or Hillary gets the nomination they will lose the general election. Obama is inexperienced and Hillary is...well Hillary. Having failed again the democrats will be looking for someone who can win in 2012. Kerry? Obama again? Hillary... forget it! Oprah arrives like a knight on horseback.

Shes far too sensible to run she already has the power and people like her, if she were to run they would carp and complain about her every decision and do what they could to ruin her reputation, who needs that?
The sad thing is that many very good people with the chops to run the country well feel the same way, so all we get are the egotists who feel they can overcome all the negatives because they are special. Not a good start right there.

Oprah could be president if she wanted.. She doesn't want it.
She would prefer to live the life of the "good" guy. She is a king-maker. If she ran for political office she would lose the credibility she has built up over a life-time.

No she does not want to run or be president but I do beleive that she wants to effect the presidency as per her support of BO.
