Does it creep anyone else out that so many people can't spell the breed of the dog they own?
"English Staffiture Bull Terrior" ? Really?
Public service announcement: It's DACHSHUND, POMERANIAN, CHIHUAHUA, ROTTWEILER, GERMAN SHEPHERD, WEIMARANER, SHIH TZU, BICHON FRISE, etc.
Oy.
LOL it doesn't matter if they're hard to spell...If you own it, you should know it! :D

Don't you mean their dog's "bread"? That's the one that annoys me, especially folks asking about "How do I bread my dog?"
Ummm... some milk/egg batter and a cornmeal dredge, maybe?
Now granted, some dog breeds can be difficult to spell. Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, for example. Beauceron. Pekingese. Dogue de Bordeaux. Heck, I go with "Doxie" and "Great Pyr" rather than try to remember how the full breed name goes. ;)
But in general, yes, the lack of education and simple research is frightening.
Source(s): True story - my ex-boyfriend wrote the police blotter for a local paper and would get the reports from the local police departments to put in the paper. One report was "Rototiller stolen from garage." The editor changed it to "Dog stolen from garage."... ::blink:: - Anonymous1 decade ago
I don't even own a dog yet and I can spell almost every dog breed there is. Some of them aren't even that hard! It is very strange... I mean, if you love your breed of dog, you should at least know how to spell it - I've seen Dalmatian spelled wrong, and even Labrador spelled wrong. The main ones are Dachshunds, Chihuahuas, anything with Shepherd in it and anything with Terrier in it. I'm only thirteen, and I can spell more breeds than lots of other people on this site. You'd think they would put in the effort to make sure they spell things right! Bad spelling and grammar really annoy me! Anyway... yes, I agree.

For the Rabador Letriever man or woman, they'd have had dyslexia, it relatively is what I surely have and that i cut back to rubble distinctive words and words relatively in lots of circumstances and heavily count number on spell checker. i'm an excellent speller yet combination up letters so in lots of circumstances and this is totally difficult. For others, they won't be the excellent spellers. in the event that they do no longer understand the thank you to correct pronounce the breed, then i do no longer understand what to assert approximately that.

I love the ones who think Shih Tzu is spelled Sh*t tsu, while I dislike little dogs calling them crap is a little harsh lol.
And yes it does- because it shows a total lack of responsibility, you own the breed and you cant even spell it?! Even if its hard you should at least make a small attempt to do SOME research. I think the people who cant spell the dogs names are probably impulse buyers and end up supporting puppy mills.

Hey, I have trouble with Chihuahua every time. OMG I got it right this time.
I do know how to spell terrier. I have got Staffordshire down pat. And it is Staffordshire Bull Terrier, no English.
One other note, I do not own my dogs. They are part of my family just as I do not own my kids.

The absolute worst one I have seen was someone saying they had a Mintier Pitcher. I about screamed "It's a MINIATURE PINSCHER, you freaking dumb ***!"
I also hate when they can't spell Doberman. Ugh, if I see one more Doverman or Mini Doberman I am going to come unglued!
One would hope that people would have done at least enough research about the breed they own to at least know how to spell it, but sadly, that isn't the case.

I can't say that mispellings on here "creep me out" - CHUCKY creeps me out - mispellings just irritate me. In this day and age of spell-checkers though, it shouldn't surprise us. And of course the people who are calling somebody else a doofus while mispelling every other word in their message ... well, THOSE messages amuse me!
I wrote to somebody on here recently thanking them for spelling SHEPHERD correctly (shepard anyone?)!

What scares me the most is when people advertise puppies they are selling in the newspaper and they can't even spell the breed they just bred. For instance "Chiwawa" or "Miniture Pincher".

I don't think it's creepy - some people just can't spell, whether it be the breed of dog they have or some regularly used words. I have to admit though, that is one of my pet peeves. I almost always notice other people's misspellings and I want so bad to go through and correct them all!

oh well, it doesn't matter if they can spell or not, just that they can take good care of the doggie......and in the AKC Book of Dogs, only the first name of a breed is capitilized..
Like German shepherd.........or Bichon frise, Shih tzu, all books I am checking out, all only show first name in Caps........its just the preference on how you want to spell....
That's okay, I have Smachauzers
have a goo day..........
