Have you got a secret tattoo and then???

Takes me on a little trip down memory lane....lol....I got my first tattoo when I was 15, it's a pretty big piece on my back, between my shoulder blades. Got the work done during winter - so I was kinda going to avoid bringing it up till summer time when it would be visible. Didn't happen - my sister had to run her mouth about it. Turns out, my mom freakin loved it - she always wanted one. My dad was pretty upset about it, " marking and ruining my body " Anyhow, 11 years later and over 20 more tattoos - he's pretty used to it now.

Not secret, as such. I got the side of my hand tattooed when my hubby was away. I didn't mention it, at when he got back, it took him four hours to notice! lol Quite funny, as we had had a meal, been 'to bed', and were at the start of an evening out, when he grabbed my hand, and asked 'Is that a tattoo?' lol - nah, I just coloured in my hand with a felt tip - NOT! lol

But, he is used to me doing odd things without mentioning it, so he never really said much.

Mine weren't secrets, I just didn't make a point of telling my parents (I'm over 18 so it's legal) and when they finally said something it wasn't a big deal. The only thing they told me was to keep future work in mind and make sure they can't plainly see them because they don't like them all that much. My god mother on the other hand, was so excited when she saw my second one on accident. It was more encouragement than my parents gave but they still respected my choices.

yeah I went with my brother and kept it a secret from my parents, and the after I got it I showed them. I had been talking about getting one for some years, just bring it up occasionally, so they knew I had been thinking about it.

once its done its done, they couldn't do anything about it, although it made my mom a bit uncomfortable for a bit. That was just because she didn't like the fact that I had gone through pain though.

I got wings, which can be hidden, and I think that made a difference.

If your family is unhappy explain that its your decision and it doesn't change who you are. It just makes you more beautiful!

I got all my tattoos before i told my family, except the big angel on my back, my husband helped me with the design and held my hand when i was getting it done, it took ages.

With all my tattoos and piercings, I just got them on my own then showed up at home and said "Hey Ma, I got a tattoo" and then she tells me she doesn't like it. No biggie. It's my body and she knows it's my choice.

Plus I'm 21 and she can't stop me...

I got one done on my left breast,my Mum just frowned when she saw it-she was used to me tattooing & piercing various parts of my anatomy and knew that disapproving of it wouldn't stop me so didn't bother saying anything lol.

the only family members that know is my mum, dad and uncle.. my uncle LOVES it, my mum just said "wow.. i hope you'll never stop liking slayer" and my dad didnt really care

the rest of my family would freak out though

Yea, but it wasn't secret for long. The fam didn't approve, but there was nothing they could do about it! Too bad so sad!!
