Question about the Bible , pls help.?
Matthew 19:9 "I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery."
Mark 10:11 "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her."
Mark 10:12 "And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery."
Luke 16:18 "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery."
And adultery is a sin according to the bible, and sin leads u to hell , So, according to statistics america is mostly a christian nation and the highest divorce rates in the world are in America, So evry christian who divorced for whatever reason except infedility is going to hell, is he?
Pls remember to star my question so i can get as many answers as i can.
Former Muslim Girl: what is ur reason behind putting ur name as"Former muslim Girl" cldnt u have put up ur name or ur new relegion or if u are an athiest , say u are an athiest , what are u trying to do advertising that u r "apparently" a former muslim.
Alexie N: Thank you for correcting me, so a person cant re-marry ever again, what the heck, what if i didnt like the nature of my last wife , or what if we cldnt get along , we cldnt relate to each , what choice do we have except to divorce each other, why do i gotta spend the rest of my life alone , i find it ridiculous.
Buddy_le : sins are forgiven when u do them unknowingly , but many sins are also forgiven if u repent, but the damage has already been done , u already divorced and remarried, how can that be forgiven? Does it mean u have to abandon her to get rid of the sin, bcz that sin is gonna be with u until u die or she dies.
How many ppl actually support that one shldnt re-marry , bcz i find it stupid, why shld i stay single for my entire life for a mistake that i commited in the earlier stages of my life, we got married to early, we didnt get along, we didnt like eachother for our habits and divorced...what the heck, no i cant marry again.
Some ppl here are saying that we can ask for forgiveness, so i want to ask is u r gonna marry again knowing it is considered to be a sin which i think is stupid though but u will ask for forgiveness, how is tht forgiveness gonna be accepted by God , if u r doing it knowingly and then asking for forgiveness, if God was that kind one cld go out rape someone though knowing it is wrong and just ask for forgiveness, expecting the sin to be forgiven, well in my opinion the sin wont be forgiven as the person did it on purpose and if the sin is not forgiven u know where u r going.

It isn't divorce it is remarriage, also, the translation of "except for marital unfaithfulness" in Matthew is actually a misleading translation of the Greek. A more correct read would be "except for a marriage which is unlawful," which was a rabbinic phrase for things such as an incestuous marriage. Your translation seems to be subject to church politics.
The divorce isn't the violation, it is the remarriage. Nonetheless, both Peter and Paul cite alternative acceptable reasons for divorce and remarriage and created what is called annulment. The early Church recognized that there were circumstances where a marriage would be null from the beginning, the most classic being the shotgun wedding. So the apostolic tradition permits some remarriage, but not a lot and certainly less than happens today.
Of course, all of this presupposes the bible holds validity.
Still, even as an atheist, Jesus has a point. If you are going to live in a communal and cooperate lifestyle, then the emotion that must drive it is overwhelming love and commitment. A divorce is acceptable since all make a mistake, but remarriage closes the ability to love even your enemy. While I do not believe there is a hell, there is a strong ethics argument within certain ordinary value systems against remarriage.

A sensible and transparent research of Bible historical past continually suggests the identical factor: In 392 and once more in 397A.D., in Carthage Africa, the respectable and ONLY Canon of the Bible was once founded, and it contained seventy three Books, because the Roman Catholic Bible includes. It's simply instantly details. The bastardized sixty six booklet variation of the Bible which the protestants commit their lives to is, with out query, incomplete, with the intention to swimsuit the wants of 1 guy, Martin Luther. How someone who can learn in any respect could suppose in any other case is not possible to the literate human. I continually pray for many who are nonetheless delusional and preserve onto the sixty six booklet, bastardized models. God Bless you.

Matthew 19:9 "I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery AND GOES TO HELL."
Mark 10:11 "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her AND GOES TO HELL."
Mark 10:12 "And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery AND GOES TO HELL."
Luke 16:18 "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery AND GOES TO HELL."
It doesn't say that.

If you read the text carefully, you'll see the trap that the Pharisees were trying to set for Jesus. In Matthew 19:3 the Pharisees asked Jesus if it was ok to divorce your wife "for every cause" (KJV) or "for any reason" (NKJV)
What they were asking, was if it was legal to divorce your wife for ANY reason, giving the husband freedom to divorce his wife any time he felt like it.
Jesus in turn responded the way He did to enforce that God had never condoned divorce, that divorce was a serious matter in His eyes, and not subject to whimsical decisions.
Jesus knew the awful emotional trauma that accompanies divorce and was expressing God's hatred of divorce, especially for frivolous reasons.
Also remember, the Rabbis, sages and teachers over time had by then created the Oral Law (which later became the Talmud) which in many cases differed from the written Law of Moses. The Pharisees were essentially asking him which Rabbi's teaching He supported, and Jesus quoted from the written Law which was the final authority in the matter.
Does this help?

Jesus was speaking about unscriptural divorce. It is not a sin for the INNOCENT mate to seek a divorce if the other is unfaithful.
But if someone divorces their mate for any other reason except adultery (violence, non-support, etc) they are not free to remarry. They have to remain single or otherwise get back to their partner.

If everyone went to hell because they sinned, God would be one lonely spirit now wouldn't he? I don't have my Bible with me but I can tell you that asking for forgiveness and changing your ways goes along way with God. Look at Paul. He killed Christ's followers and ended up being an apostle. Is he going to hell? Remember, God is like a shephard. He wants to bring in every last sheep from the cold.
Edit: Moses killed an Egyptian knowing it was murder and do you think God is sending him to hell? You obviously feel awful about the situation. My heart goes out to you cuz I know how horrible it is. I'm sure there are better reasons a person could go to hell than this. And obviously you want forgiveness otherwise you wouldn't be so animate about this.

The beauty of Christianity is repentance. There is only one unpardonable sin, which you haven't included in your list. Therefore, if you sincerely repent for your part in a divorce, for example, that sin is blotted out.
If I did not believe that Christ forgives sins, I'd stop being a Christian because I sin everyday.

Human statistics doesn't reflect what the bible accepts as true or not.
The claim that America is mostly christians must be tested first using truth in the bible.
Christians are followers of Christ and his commandments.
One of the commandments of Christ is in
Mark 10:11
"Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her."
If many people in America disobey this commandment, how could we consider them Christians?
"REAL" Christians obey Christ's commandments.
John 8:31
"Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed."

I am of no religion yet I have read the new testement, cause I feel Jesus did exist. I know that what was meant by all of that, is , if you feel your wife cheated on you , (Even if all she did was look at others or flirt with others with lust in her eyes), then She has cheated. And leaving her and divorcing her, for that reason , will allow you to enter "heaven". many folks in the world, are creating there own hell, by being negative and following lustfull intents allways, so they go to hell by creating it. yet the one whom does NOT look at others with lustfull intentions, shall not feel there Hell.

God has the wisdom to creat everything on earth, doesn't he also has the wisdom to judge? A lot of people will go to hell, and that is why in the book of revelation it says only 144,000 people will be living in Heaven. Well, that warns us to be really careful about every step we take in our life, doesn't it?!!!!!
