The Italian Invasion?
What the hell is going on? Apparently the FA have appointed a new England manager. Cap something or other (if he can't speak my language then why should I even try). According to Sky Sports he is bringing a load of I-ties with him. What has football in this country come to. Surely we need someone who can at least speak the language. Sign language on the touch line cannot be good can it? What do you think ( feel free to take the p*** if you are italian or any other nationality).
The Fa seem to be taking the P*** out of the English so why shouldn't eveyone else.

kostascdsc do you know wtf you're talking about when you accuse England as being crap when it comes to football? Why aren't foreign investors interested in Italian clubs? The general view of Italian football in a world perspective (I'm not English) is that it's made up of hooliganism and corruption. That's the same reason Kaka stated that if the violence does not halt he'll be playing abroad.
Italian stadiums and pitches are crap in comparison to those of the UK. English Premier League clubs remain well ahead in terms of revenue (€2.0 billion) and profitability (€200m). Next season the revenue of Premier League clubs will be boosted by new TV deals to over €2.5 billion. Meanwhile, the problems affecting Italian football will mean that the revenue gap between the Premier League and Serie A is likely to be €1 billion in 2007/08.”
And Capello chose to manage England for a damn reason, he saw an opportunity to win titles, plain and simple. Do you really think a coach of his pedigree would even consider coaching any team if he knew that that was not a realistic challenge?
kostascdsc yeah I do have the sources to back it up: http://www.deloitte.com/dtt/press_release/0,1014,c... and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premier_league
By pointing out the hooliganism I did not point out a weakness of the players on the pitch. I pointed out the Italian FA's inability to deal with a problem the English FA swiftly and desicively dealt with ten years ago when the UK had the same problem. And thanks for that bit of poetry, you just clearly reiterated what everyone in the world knows.
Even an idiot would disagree with your comment that England is complete crap, see what Croatia had going for them was a good run, what England has going for them is a world-class squad with match winners all over the park. A squad wich was screwed up by two men only, those that have preceeded Capello. And Capello, as we all know, still has to fail at coaching level. He is, without a doubt, a world-class coach. And who cares how attractive his brand of playing is? What matters at the end of the day is who wins and who loses, nothing else. It wont be the same England that'll show up at the WC, that's for sure.
kostascdsc wtf are you talking about, Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool - three of the wealthiest clubs in world football. They can buy ANYONE, be that a croat or an Englishman. The recent influx of foreign players have not robbed the best England has to offer from their club spots. You're daft to say that Croatia woulden't grovel on the ground for a few of those players.
Lampard has scored more than a 100 goals in his Chelsea career from MIDFIELD. Rooney was 16 when he blasted a 30 yard goal into the Arsenal net to win it for Everton, and is well in the race to win the golden boot award this season in the Premiership. Gerrard's not a living Liverpool legend for nothing, his stoppage time shot from 25 yards out against Monaco in a must win game in the season they won the CL wasn't luck, even an idiot who occasionally watches the Premier League would agree. Beckam was a veteran, but we've got Wright-Phillips, a regular for Chelsea. Terry was voted best defender in the 2005 UEFA Champions League PFA Players' Player of the Year in 2005, and was included in the FIFPro World XI for 2005, 2006 and 2007, and is widely seen as one of the best, if not the best, defender in the world. Sir Alex Feguson isn't an idiot to play someone who doesn't bring the goods to the table, and Rio Ferdinand has made good on his £30 million transfer year in and year out. Not to mention Micah Richards who is one of the best young talents out there.
To make the comment that Croatia is man to man better than England is just plain idiotic. Why aren't the English managers interested in croats? Abramovich along with the other foreign investors don't give a rat's a.ss what the nationality of their players are, as long as they win, which they do, week in and week out, with a English core at every club's heart.

Personally, I'm thrilled to have a proven coach in charge.
We've finally got a World Class manager. Perhaps he can get the respect of the prima donnas that have pulled on the England shirt recently. Too few have shown enough pride in playing for England for a long time.
Of course I'd rather we had an Englishman in the top job in English football - but there is NOBODY suitable (time to address that issue?), so we've gone for (arguably) the best coach in the world.

The hell? Maybe you will finally beat us in the World Cup. Hows that for taking the p*** ya mong. You don't realize how lucky you are...thats it. God knows the "I-ties" invaded your island once already so yer used to it by now.
Really though m8, don't be a nationalistic chav about this...the fact that someone out there who isn't English has faith in you losers (face it...literally) is something, you should be thankful, but then you are English in the worst way...
Jintu good point m8, but this is not about the league, its about the National team, and right now, Italy is doing very well and England at a low point. So Jintu...what exactly are you talking about...last time I checked, I was talking about Capello restoring the English National team to something that not only the English, but the rest of the world, can say is a quality side.
England IS crap when it comes to football, not the premiership (not that that is really English anymore anyway) so don't try to paint it another way, Jintu, because this is the way it is right now. I'm not English, I'm not Italian, but I still know what I'm talking about. Oh...and by the way, just because your league is plagued by hooliganism, doesn't mean that the quality of the football in it is bad. Just to let you know... o_O
England is a challenge, a challenge to sort out. Capello thinks he is the man to fix it. Like I said England is fortunate that he saw faith in them because most people, ENGLISH PEOPLE, think England is a lost cause. So stop blabbering on about the leagues and what not. It really doesn't matter. What does matter is that England are complete crap, but Capello is going to try do England a huge favor by fixing that, and the fact that he is not English, and that he does not speak English RIGHT NOW is irrelevent. He can learn English, and for a team as desperate as England is now, if that isn't good enough, then they don't deserve to qualify for the World Cup because of their arrogance.
I hope you realize that England are very, very extremely far from winning a title right now, because if you don't, you are blind. He doesn't see titles, he sees a team in need. Good managers don't see titles, they see the beginning of a good team, capable of winning titles.
Nice stats by the way Jintu...any sources to match?
Jintu - you are delusional if you think England are World Class, Croatia is a good team, they are better than England. Tell me one English player who would start on Croatia? Beckham? Rooney? MAYBE. Besides that, the players have no passion. Both of these things are not the fault of the managers. The fact that England sucks is not all down to the managers. The players are not good either, if you can't recognize that, then YOU ARE AN IDIOT. Plain and simple. The managers (actually Sven didn't do that badly) did mess the team up, but the players themselves kick the ball, not the managers. End of.
Pointing out Hooliganism (which was a problem the FA did not deal with very swiftly at all anyway) has NOTHING to do with the coaches a country produces or the national team. so thanks, Jintu, FOR POINTING OUT ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Italy has a better national team and better managers to match, and that is the topic of this question not hooliganism.

When Capello went to Spain he couldn't say either a word in Spanish, but he learnt it very soon and won the Liga with Real Madrid, so if ur problem is just language u dont have to be afraid. About his skills... u aldready know his worth.... he's the best. Wonderful choice! Well done FA!

Italien football is THE most ugly football to watch, grinding out 1-0 wins, with 10 men behind the ball, all Italien football fans are violent thugs, I am a Man Utd fan and U can imaine my anger (I already didnt like Italiens) after 5 fans were stabbed by Roma fans (Scum) and then Capello is "appoved" by the FA, the FA couldnt wipe their **** with both hands, thats why the national team is full of ****, luckilly being a Utd fan Its not all doom and gloom as I now ONLY watch Utd, what really pissed me off about the FA tho is after they were outplayed by Croatia they had a rant at the premierleague for having to many foreigners, im sorry but if a player is good enuff then he will shine thu, its not arsene wengers fault that English players arent good enuff.
Also can I make a comment on my disappointment to england fans, yes, sorry but apparetnly every1 now hates croatia, why?! if england had secured qualification would we just let croatia lose and let them thru? No, we'd play to win, Its not Croatias fault or russias fault (and nobody mention Astroturf, the Ruskis outplayed them, real grass or not) its the english players and staffs fault, a draw against macedonia? losing 2-0 to Croatia after not 1 croatian scored (Neville O.G and Eduardo is brazllian)
1 final note, after watching Piers Morgan say on Soccer AM how Scott Carson shud be shot for his mistake against croatia, WTF that was the kids 1st competative game for England and he's only 22, so congratulations to the media for screwing that kid in th head and doin to him wat theyd done to Robinson. they forget that football is a team sport with 11 players
PS. I just realised Capello was coach at Roma, England is shittin on its doorstep if they appoint him headcoach

england's last manager spoke perfect english......how did it turn out? it's not the language that makes the difference. coaching isn't done by yelling from the sideline.
he is the best manager english FA can get at the moment.

Fabio Capello is regarded as one of the best coaches in professional football, he has the distinction of winning the domestic league title with every team he has managed throughout his career, with Milan, Real Madrid, Roma and Juventus. Capello is one of the few coaches to claim championship victories in four major European cities (Milan, Madrid, Rome and Turin). He has won a major league championship in 9 of his 16 seasons as a coach and oversaw one of the most dominant UEFA Champions League victories of all-time.
They gave the "domestic coach rule" another stab with McClaren and that failed dismally. So not sure wtf your looking for.
