Where is labor!?

Question

I am 3 cm dilated, 80% effaced and the baby is at -1 station.  I was sent home from the hospital yesterday morning.  The doctor said I was either in early labor or it was false labor.  My contractions lasted from 10:30 Monday night until 1:00 yesterday afternoon.  After all this time there was no change to my cervix.  For 2 hours the contractions were very painful and were all 4 minutes apart with a time of 60 seconds each!  

Just wondering if anyone else has been through this?  I am 38 weeks today and this is baby number 4.  All my others were early (between 36 and 39 weeks) so I figured I would have a newborn by now..instead just an empty crib :(

The doctor suggested sex which we can't do since everything is so smushed up in there but we have be doing mutual "self pleasure" to help bring on the oxytocin but it seems to do no good.  

I did lose my plug and have had bloody show mucus for a week or so...

dude....im 4o weeks+1 day...ive been waiting FOREVER..

and everytime i go to my dr. im not dilated at all, and my mucus plug never dropped. 

u just have 2 wait it out...yr closer than me and im farther along!! heeheehee..

self pleasure won't stimulate the cervix.... Only sperm will....
 
There is another old fashioned trick you could try..... Castor oil...It is in your pharmacy section....a Teaspoon full in a glass of oj will cause contractions... Absolutley no more than the teaspoon...Too much can be harmful to you. .....   But if you are having contractions and your cervix is not changing... I would ask about dystochia..... If the contractions continue and the cervix still does not change then I would ask your doctor about inducing. Breaking your water will usually get you going....If you still don't progress as you should a c-section may be in order.

Labor will be when your contractions worsen with walking. Lightening, burst of energy, loss of a few lbs. You will actually give birth at 8-10cm,100%,+4. Im sure it will come on soon. You sound like you experienced false labor.

OMG don't drive on RR tracks. If your water hasn't broken try a warm bath, massage and then a walk.  Then get your honey to give you a little pleasure.  Good lluck!

I would say losing the plug is a really good sign.  Sometimes it just takes longer than others.  You're doing the right things.  You can walk.  Then there's always spicy foods and riding over railroad tracks....

relax your baby will be here soon. did you try a really hot hot bath? thats what i did and it worked. sex lol   i dont think that would be fun for your husband
