The paint you see mostly on VW bugs that looks purple at first glance, then it changes...?

It's irridescent, kind of resembles carnival glass; goes from purple to blue to orange to green, all mixed together. I've heard the paint is terribly expensive. How does it work?

Yes there was a article in the paper recently, It is a new paint that when viewed from different angles, seems to move and change colors. I think that would be pretty cool.

Just today they also said they were coming out with a new 2008 "Bullit" Mustang (Steve McQueen movie 1968) limited edition. I used to own a 66 Mustang (my first car) and if I knew then what I know now, I would never have sold it.

My friend has his car painted like that, he owns a body shop and he told me its done by layers of paint on the car, some kind of special paint though. His had 8 layers - and it was like that - a different colour depending on whether you were looking at it from the front, the back or the sides - very very beautiful - and he said it WAS very expensive
