Delicacy, indeed it is, we have it about every two weeks with mash, food can't get any better. I was surprised when we went into our local restruant to find it on the menu (France), we were told many French people like it 'la méthode anglaise' with thick beef gravy and mash.

Not a delicacy. Only cook when my husband pleads for it. Cannot bear the feel of raw liver and gets no better when cooked.

It's not a delicacy. It's a good old fashioned meal served with mash, bacon and mushrooms.
A delicacy is Sheep's testicles or truffles or something exspensive and quite rare.

Had calves liver and onions last night - brilliant. Just cooked for a minute on each side so it was still pink in the middle. A treat.

Who are you making it for? What are their tastes? Because if I showed up at a dinner and that was served, ugh, I'd be sick, but that is me. So you might want to check what your guests like first before making this on the notion it is a delicacy..hope this helps!

I cant understand when people say 'urgh can't eat that, it's liver!' - it's no different from eating any other type of flesh from an animal. Rump steak for example - comes from the cows backside! Why is that ok?
I personally like liver. Very good for you too, and full of iron.

Me, no, I wouldn't call it a delicacy. I don't care for it, but my dad liked it.
