Are the benefits at Wal-mart any good?

I will start working third shift at Wal-mart in two weeks and I am really concerned about their family medical benefits. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I work for Wal-Mart and so far the benefits are good. Every few months you will get to up grade your health insurance and other options. The best benefit I feel there is - is the discount card. You get 10 % off of every major purchase. So far ; I 'm enjoying working there.

I worked for Wal-Mart for 6 years. To be all honest you would have to be lucky with the department you hire into, to get the hour requirement to be able to hold your benifits. I worked in the photo lab and had a constant schedual of 7am to 4pm. The 10% discount is great. Every year before christmas they give a coupon to every employee for a 20% discount on 1 item. Medical is fantastic.

The nice thing about you working 3rd shift is you will always work 10pm to 7am or 6am. So you will meet your 36 hour a week quota to hold benifits.

    what benefits?

Wal-mart keeps it's employees schedules below what they need to be eligible for medical benefits.

unless you have a contract that stipulates what you will receive in benefits, you will have none, unless you are a full time employee, which no one , excluding management is. Ask your co workers. They'll tell you . they don't work 40 hours a week.and are not eligible for benefits. Y'all need a union.

If the job doesn't fits your requirement for medical benefits, maybe its time to change job.
