Why do Ron Paul supporters insist he's being ignored by the media?

I've seen so many questions about Ron Paul's fund-raising being overlooked by the mainstream media. I typed "Ron Paul" into Google News:

W. POST

"On Tea Party Anniversary, Ron Paul Raises Millions"

USA TODAY

Ron Paul White House bid raises $4.5 million

All told, there are already 6863 hits for "Ron Paul," compared to 25 talking about the filibuster Chris Dodd is planning tomorrow against immunity for telecom companies. Seriously, I'm confused. How is this being ignored?

He isn't being totally ignored. Most of these stories though are about how people are supporting him, as if it is a shock that he is supported at all.

However, watch MSNBC, or CNN, etc. Wait for them to have an hour dedicated to the elections, and see which names they bring up and how much air time they give them.

The majority of the time is dedicated to only 4 people, even though there are more running.

I do think that part of it is because they like to report controversy and negativity more than not. The stories are about who said what about who more than anything. And focuses on negative ads, and then asking the question about if they are a good thing or not, as if to free them from any guilt on the story they are covering.

I haven't heard of anyone talking bad about Ron Paul, or about him talking bad about anyone else - thus nothing for the news networks to bite on. In fact, as a friend pointed out, in the last republican debate many of the candidates seemed to be trying to sound more like Ron Paul than they would otherwise.

Our international locations greenback is going to break down. Did everybody omit that? I reported our u . s .'s greenback is going to break down. Ron Paul has warned us. it fairly is going to ensue quickly, examine it your self. The richest adult adult males in u.s. are making billions from those wars, and the Federal Reserve. Ron Paul want's to do away with the Federal Reserve and end the conflict that are the two substantial motives for the appearance crumple. those prosperous adult adult males who make money from the wars and the Federal Reserve pay the media to impression your vote. "a super business u . s . is controlled via it fairly is device of credit. Our device of credit is concentrated interior the arms of a few adult adult males. we've emerge as between the worst governed, between the main thoroughly controlled and ruled governments interior the international-- no longer a central authority of unfastened opinion, no longer a central authority via conviction and vote of the final public, yet a central authority via the opinion and duress of small communities of dominant adult adult males." -- President Woodrow Wilson in view that January 2011, Romney has gained 3 state straw polls, Gingrich a million and Ron Paul 20. Romney has amassed 8% of all armed forces donations, Gingrich below a million%, Paul over 70%. he's the commonest candidate yet once you watch the media, then you definately think of isn't any way in h#ll that Ron Paul gets elected. They do a super interest of coming up a guy invisible.

Lets see, he doesn't get any airtime on a single cable show, except for maybe Tucker Carlson.

Also Paul's raised 18 million so far this quarter, Dodd isn't quite up there yet.

Because he is..the media doesn't see him as a serious candidate(with a real chance to win) but they should.

He has real ideas of how to get this country back like the founding fathers intended for it to be.

The media thinks he's to radical and also I wonder how much the 2 'standard' parties are helping that along, many forces would like to keep the status quo, there making millions off of it.

They talk about him when he raises money, but nobody wants to talk to him about the issues. The only place you can find Ron Paul is on the internet.

These are strang people. They believe that since they spam online and phone polls, that REAL polls should follow. But of course, they don't. Ron Pauls REAL poll numbers are in the low single digits. He already gets more attention than he deserves. He comes across as a cookey old man with a sniveling whiney voice, and he is just plain annoying to listen to. He is completely unelectable, but his nutjob supporters just won't open their eyes to see that.

Because Paul trolls for lots of conspiracy theorists and people on fringe communities

For the same reason they falsely believe he'll win the election, or that he's some sort of liberal, or that he understands the Constitution. There's a certain subset of people who just want to upset the apple-cart, and who want revolutionary credentials more than they want to understand the issues. Ron Paul is their custom-made leader: a radical regressive who has never gotten a single bill passed in Congress and paints himself as a savior when he's really selling poison.
