In the Pirates of the Carribean 3, how come Turner didn't get an octopus face when he was killed?

Davy Jones got stuck with that face, so how come Turner's face didn't change when he took Jones' place?

I'm still trying to piece the whole story together... story seems to be disconnected or undeveloped here and there.

jones got that way(and his crew) because he didnt ferry the souls of the dead to the land of the dead. he didnt do the job, like turner said earlier in the movie talking to jack sparrow.

thats why the crew returned to normal selves after turner is the captain. because he was someone who would do the job.

Davy Jones was supposed to ferry souls to the otherside but failed to do so, it explains kind of in the beginning of the film.

I think because he didn't "lose his way" the way Davy Jones did. (Something Calypso said to Davy)

Because his own face was scary enough as it was.
