Should the Falcons trade their first round draft pick to the Browns for Brady Quinn?

No way. The Falcons should trade down, get mulitple first and second round picks (they already have 9 picks in next years draft) and draft a QB either late in the first round or in the second round. They need a lot of help besides QB and NO QB coming out in this years draft is worthy of a high first round pick. Matt Ryan........please!

You are onto something, but the Browns will probably demand a first, second or third and fifth for Quinn, since a team would be getting a ready-made young QB who will be ready to start (the work Quinn has done on the sidelines and during the week in the classroom is invaluable when projecting him out to 2008-2009).

One - Anderson or Quinn - would mean a nice package of draft picks and the Browns must entertain offers. Though Quinn is perhaps as popular in northeast Ohio as former great Bernie Kosar, he will be stuck behind Anderson.

If the right deal comes along, the Browns should make the move.

Why?? They can just hold him. I think Derek Anderson can be the franchise quarterback of the future, but anything can still happen. He could still revert to being a 3rd string bench warmer even as soon the playoffs should they make it. Maybe he goes down and gets a career injury that hinders his performance like Culpepper did a couple years ago. Cleveland has had so many problems and busts at quarterback in the last 20 years. Look at Tim Couch. Now that they have 2 potential great guys and if one fails, you've got the other as a backup plan. Besides, with Quinn getting drafted so late last year, he's not that pricey compared to what he would have been had he gone in the top ten as predicted. If they're going to trade him, let him sit for a couple years when you know for sure Anderson is "the guy" and Quinn's salary gets bigger year to year. As far as Anderson becoming a free agent, the Browns can resign him now while his price tag is still managable and be able to afford to keep both guys for a few years to determine who will be the better leader for that offense.

1. Cam Newton - A- I think he has more potential than anyone in the draft by a large margin.. "might" be a bust.. more likely to be a success as he's always been a success 2. Von Miller - A.. just a good solid pick 3. Marcel Dareus - B-.. he's a bust.. made his name off two good plays in 2009 and then basically stunk in 2010.. living off the hype and won't survive in Buffalo 4. AJ Green - B+.. he's OUTSTANDING and all that but my question is who's going to get him the ball? Could be an A pick if the Bengals replace Palmer 5. Patrick Peterson A--.. Barely an A but he is good.. the reason I give him the lower score is a lack of any QB on the roster in Arizona 6. Julio Jones: C-.. barely on the radar here.. Falcon's gave up too much and I got to question Julio in a couple of areas.. Falcon's are my team but a guy who's got suspect hands, speed and route running ability is NOT worth what the Falcon's gave up to get him 7. Aldon Smith: C.. like you said not what they need 8. Jake Locker: F.. bad pick in my opinion.. Titans could have gotten this guy in the 2nd round for less money 9. Tyron Smith.. Hell no, 1) the falcons wouldnt trade a possible #2 pick for brady quinn and 2) the browns wouldnt trade him regardless, derek anderson was a big suprise to them and probally expected to start quinn a few weeks after anderson started. to bad anderson is doing awesome this year

Cleveland spent too much to get Quinn to give up on him after one year, plus there is no gauruntee that Anderson even comes back to the Browns, free agency is tricky...he may get a huge offer from Miami and have to jump on it!

They have said all along that no matter how great Anderson is playing he is in the DeBerg role (keep the seat warm until the future takes over).

Nice logic, apart from the fact that Derek Anderson is scheduled to become a free agent, and something tells me that even if the Browns re-sign him, they will eventually get their big money investment on the field at some point.

After all, why go through great pains to move up in the draft to select him only to trade him before he's been truly tested?

I am a ND fan, and love Brady Quinn, but I think Matt Ryan will be a better pro. He plays more like a pro QB. I would take Ryan if I had the pick.

Derek Anderson will be a FA so the Browns will keep Quinn.

What makes you think the Browns are trading Quinn?

Because, this just in, they are not. They have him under a low contract and will extend Anderson's contract as well. It's a win-win for the Browns.
