Mechanical animation software?

I'm looking for an inexpensive (or free) software that will let me draw fairly simple 2 D machines and animate their movement. I've tried Dogwaffle and Drawplus but find that they don't have some simple drawing features like erase and outline.

If you have or know of anything like this please let me know about it.

Update:

Working Model 2D appears to cost about $2,500 - can't afford that by a long shot. Solid Works student version now costs between $99 and $200 unless I'm looking at the wrong thing, and I'm not a student so can't qualify under their terms anyway. Both products look like what i wanted however. Thanks to you both.

solidworks---its not free, but the student version can be had for less than $40, and comes with a lesson book to walk you through the commands. With it, you can draw 2d, rotate to another plane and draw, then extrude to 3d. You can then animate multiple pieces..
