In transit means it is on its way. If it was to say out for delivery it would mean that it would be delivered that day. When you track it, you should see an estimated arrival date. Go by that. Sometimes they can get there earlier, but keep in mind with the holiday they are very busy.

Source(s): I work for a company that ships a lot and I have to check UPS tracking numbers like 20 times a day.

    What Does In Transit Mean

"In Transit" means that its halfway to your destination. If it says "Out for Delivery" it means it should be delivered that day. And if it says "Delivered" it means its either in your house because someone else brought it inside you just didn't know OR it could be outside on your porch. This is my FIRST time buying something from Amazon and it said that me shipment was "In Transit". I can't wait to get my item!!! Hope this was helpful! PLZ like and comment! I would LOVE to hear your thoughts!

In transit means, your order/package is already being carried by a truck/plane/ship. It will usually arrive to your local Post Office and will be soon delivered to your home. Hope this helps answer your question.

It means it is IN TRANSIT. On a truck/plane somewhere between the shipper and the destination. If the website says your package is "out for delivery", then it's on the way to your house/office.

My friend sent a package from London to Germany. iIt is Air Freight. And he gave the tracking number and saw the status of the parcel "TRANSIT". From 18 of July until now its not yet delivered. Is that normal to wait already almost a week now.

Did you ever see Star Trek? Its like "beam me up Scotty" but without all the remolecularization. That just means that its on a truck or plane or train or SS Enterprise on its way to its destination.
