In this day and age?

Well I am pagan and believe in the Greek gods, however I know that much of the mythology is allegory based on some fact- not meant to be taken completely literally.
"In this day and age?"
Well... if you want to play like that- belief in the Greek gods long predated that in many other gods, including the Christian one. I could be incredulous about people still believing Jesus performed miracles "in this day and age".

No! But they are really interesting stories, and the characters are represented repeatedly in the literature and movies of our culture. Romeo and Juliet -- Pyramus and Thisbe. I could go on and on, but I won't. you get the picture. But, they did not exist, except in the minds of the Greeks. The Romans were jealous of the incredible stories they heard from the Greeks that they created their own gods, who, ironically, had many of the same powers! If you study a little bit, you will find that there is, in most cultures, some form of mythology. Makes for interesting studying!

Yup, there's a (very) small group of people in Greece actually who believe in the Olympian gods. They got some publicity recently because they asked the government for the right to worship at ancient pagan temples.
I'm sure similar groups exist elsewhere too.

Yes. My Greek teacher saw people worshiping Greek gods at the Parthenon.

Christendom does. Most of their beliefs come from Greece and Plato rather than the Bible. RC encyclopedia actually states so in many instances quoting and referring to him and not the Bible.

Yes, it's just not very common in predominantly Christian and Muslim nations. If you live in one of those, you'd be hard pressed to find ANYONE that worships something outside of those religions.

As in did it actually exist or what???
Historical evidence says it existed...for a long time...
Source(s): No one actually worships the Olympian gods anymore...went the way of the dodo when Christianity and Islam took over...
