yes it does. as a diabetic for 26 years always thought will never happen to me but i was wrong.i had a double organ transplant that cured me from being a diabetic in 2003 but i still lost my left left in 2004 from the damage i had done to my body in the years before. if anyone has questions ask me and i can tell you my story.

never think it will never happen to you and let your guard down because i did and every morning i have to get up and put an artificial leg on.

i dont quiet understand what exactly you're trying to ask, but when you're diabetic, even an ingrown toenail should be examined by an md. people with diabetes thing that just because the take their meds, its ok to have that dbl cheeseburger, xl fries and milkshake, with the reasoning "i'll just dbl-up on meds tomarrow". as a medical assistant i cant tell you how many times i've seen this, and howmany times a patient has rushed in because the didnt think the swelling in their feet was a big deal. you know, stuff like that. dont be stupid thinking that you can always be saved by the doctor from your irresponsibility.i'm not judging; this could be a ? just out of curiosity, in which case, dont take my bluntness so personal. if its for you, go see the doctor and modify your lifestyle so that you can live a little longer. really

    Yes and no.

While I have been diabetic for many years (type 1), I have always taken care of myself.

I know the complications I may face in the future. However, I refuse to live my life afraid. I can't focus on what MIGHT happen. I am well aware of what might be ahead for me. At the same time, I might be just fine.

I accepted having diabetes. That means I also accepted the potential side effects from long term diabetes and prepared myself for the future, whatever it may bring. If, one day, I am faced with leg problems or kidney problems or whatever, I take comfort in knowing that I can face that down.

God never puts more on one person than He knows they are capable in handling.
