Cleveland Browns - Legit Contenders??

Now that the Browns will most likely lock up a playoff spot, do you guys see them as real contenders in the AFC? If not a contender, I think they can knock off their first round opponent... They'll play the Chargers or Pittsburgh, and neither team wants a part of the Cleveland offense. Anyone on our bandwagon???

Update:

I like that there are few fans of the Browns...I've been loyal through all the horrible play, and it's nice to see them finally putting together a good season. It's about time after all the talented draft picks we've picked up over the years...

They are a dangerous team especially if their defense starts to play well. I dont think they will make it past the 2nd round though, the afc is stacked with good teams and indy and New England will be tough to beat at home.

The browns have a shot at pittsburgh SD and jax the odds are against them on Indy and NE but hey anything can happen in cleveland maybe the cleveland curse will turn to super bowl champs

The problem with Cleveland is their defense...its just not up to par and in the playoff teams turn it up a notch. Pittsburgh beat them twice already and the second time(with Anderson in) they blew a 21-6 lead when they had their boots on the Steelers neck and couldnt close it.

i cant see them beating San Diego, say what you will about Rivers but the rest of that team is playing some good ball and with LT going against a Cleveland Defense that allows 128.9 yards against the rush...it could be a long day.

not to mention they will play in San Diego or Pittsburgh(assuming Steelers win out)

they are a legit playoff team they proved that...but i dont see them getting out of the first round.

    sorry.

they got a good shot-they kept up w/pats for 3 quarters-that was when the pats were actually playing well i might add-their def is questionable but a good offense can counter that - just look at the kurt warner's rams team - they won a superbowl w/ no def - anything can happen in the NFL its all a matter of who's peaking at the right time - case in point pittspuke 2 years ago- colts, pats, and seahawks all far better teams but pittspuke got the ring - dont lose faith - go browns

Absolutely they are contenders. Honestly I really think they could knock off NE or Indy too, any given Sunday and they DO have some serious weapons.

Sehawks fan through and through, but it has been fun to see the Browns do well this season; such a storied franchise doesn't deserve to be down that long.

i REALLY like the browns this year

i read an article in Sports Illustrated about them and the weapons they have, how the core of the team was put together.

they have a deep line up with solid players at each position who can make big plays

the running game is solid with jamal lewis behind lawrence vickers,

derek anderson is having a huge year, with braylon edwards lleading the way at receiver.

i think the browns ARE legit contenders, itll be a shame if they were to fall apart because of their lack of playoff experience.

    cant wait till the playoffs!

I'm a season ticket holder and we are praying for a home field playoff game. May sound like a long shot, but not out of the question. We really need to win this weekend to clench a wildcard, but if Pittsburgh loses tonight....oh baby....game on!!!

Yes, I think like many others that they stand a good chance of advancing, but I also dread the thought of playing the Steelers first, as it looks like they are owned by Pittsburg.

As far as reaching the Super Bowl, I doubt it.
