most of time when girls think like that...they lack confidence and want to be like the girl that walks around with confidence and her head held high..and everyone wants to be liked...i don't care who u are.

I use to want to be the "popular" girl and once i was introduced to their world i hated it...all they did was gossip and backstab each other.....I would rather have one true friend than 5 fake ones

I was never the most popular in school. There are different groups and I think that being most popular of a group is common, but I don't know that there is ever one girl who "rules the school." I think it's ridiculous. People (young girls) try too hard to be something they are not. That must be uncomfortable for them.

popularity generally equals acceptance, and I think acceptance is what most teenage girls are after. You'll notice as girls get older (late high school and college) being "popular" is far less important than your own group of friends.

I wanted to be popular when i was in school. But when i was actually invited into the 'popular' group, I found it really uncomfortable because they look like and they are very judgemental people, and enjoy putting down other ppl. I really didn't want to be part of group like that. After all friends are ppl u like and enjoy being with. I don't think i would have enjoyed being with them.

girls love to be top dog,as in a girl the other girls look upto,and who they mimic,and hang onto their every word,and they like to be centre of attention,and get the boys admiration too.

I don't know. I've never strived for that. I was pretty popular, however I didn't care if I was or not.
