Whale watching in Boston Harbor...?
on April 5th, my school's NHS will be on our yearly trip, and this year we're going to Boston. On the 5th...we will be going on a 3 hour whale watching trip.
What is the probability of us actually seeing a whale or two? Has anyone been whale watching in the Boston Harbor?

is the actual watching in boston harbor or do they leave out of boston harbor?? i know that many of the charters in boston/cape cod area go to an area called stellwagen bank which is a major feeding ground for whales--i've seen them on 5 out of 5 trips but it varies-one day only saw a couple while another day must have saw a hundred flipping in the air about 10 feet from the boat--time of year makes a big difference too as the whales migrate up the coast- if i had to guess i would think april was too early(and freakin cold!!) for the whales to be this far up north but i call the charter and ask specifically where they go and then you can do your own research based on that info

We did this last May. No whales :( But apparently the odds are usually pretty good. Most companies say they "guarantee" you will see whales, but turns out if you don't, they just give you a pass for a free trip on another whale watching trip within a week or so. That doesn't work out very well for tourists...

You'll freeze your buns off in April. Wait until July and go up to Gloucester...they have two whale watches to pick from. You will definetely see whales.

They are out there all of the time, try Salem see a whale or get a coupon for a free trip another day.

not in the harbor itself, but in the boston area, your odds are pretty good
