Anyone have a Treeing Walker Coonhound?

I've only owned a lab, and I was wondering how Treeing Walker Coonhounds compare to them in any way you can tell me. I've never actually seen one in person, only pictures.

We have a hound dog. She's a great dog, a wonderful family pet. She has an excellent nature. The only issues we have with her are issues with her nose. By that I mean, she is a slave to it. Will follow a good scent with no regard to where she's going. We had to install an invisible fence to keep her on our property. If she's involved with her nose, she won't come when called. My advice is to train a hound dog early and well. Our dog does well on the leash, but when she was young, we had to be really strict with her- keeping her nose up. I'd also do lots of coming when called training. We tried, but were never able to get her to overcome the lure of the scent. I'll never forget the first time I saw her tree. Hysterical. She can jump SO HIGH from a standing still position. I don't think a normal fence would hold her if she wanted to go. Best of luck to you with your hound. They really are great dogs.

They are nice dogs, just like a hound they are always nose to the ground. From what I know they are well tempered and would make a good family pet.
