What does IQ mean?

IQ stands for Intelligence Quotient.

It is a measure of how one performs on a standardized exam known as the Stanford-Binet test, which includes pattern recognition, memorization tasks and other knowledge prized by the Western world.

There is a well-known quote from a psychologist which states that if an Aborigine drafted an IQ test, most of modern society would flunk it.

It doesn't mean a lot.

The letters stand for "Intelligence Quotient." It's the score from a test that supposedly measures intelligence - 100 is the "average" score, and higher scores imply more intelligence.

The test and testing procedures are so flawed that the number doesn't mean a terrible lot.
