My Dvd/Cd drive just stopped working...could it be windows viista?

It just started this two days ago, my dvd drive will open, i can put whatever in but the computer completely ignores the drive, its not even a option to click on. Plus this computer is two months old. Its a E-machine T3616...Can any one please help me.

    Contact EMachines TEchnical support. EMachines = Gateway so you should have at least one year of TEch Support. You may have a bad DVD Drive or a bad mainboard slot for that drive.

    Also, something simple like a loose cable, a bad DVD you are trying to read but I'd suspect the device just died.

    hey checked it this is not a hardware problem...this is some software problem and u need some troubleshooting...u dont need the drive replacement...
