What makes it so that different types of pasta have different tastes?

I've always wondered why I like some types of pasta more than others when they're clearly made out of the same thing...! I think it has to do with texture and shape, but is there a better explanation?

It's the different ingredients. Flour, eggs, no eggs, etc.

i think the thickness and shape gives a different taste, making it more chewy,or softer like spaghetti.also it's possible that theres more/less of certian ingredients in different brands/types.just guessing really.also the sauce can make all the difference too
