How come Jews never get possessed by demons and have to get exorcisms?

I was looking at Youtube and there are Christian, Catholic, Buddhist, and even Muslim exorcisms. But no Jewish. Why not? There are demons in the bible and evil spirits too.

We don't really believe in demons the way Christianity does, for instance.

In Judaism, we honour the true meaning of 'monotheism' which means that nothing can be equal to, or rival, the power of G-d.

We don't have the devil figure the way Christianity does, for example. In the 'old' testament, 'HaSatan' functions more as a type of chief prosecuting attorney, but he is not equal in power to G-d. In Hebrew, 'satan' means 'adversary'.

Hope this helps to answer your question; great post by the way!

Saul may have been "possessed" as at times he had some of the classic signs. Demon possession is more complex than movies like the Exorcist portray. And it isn't only the Christian Religion that believe in Demonic possession.. many Shamanic cultures do also...interesting subject

We do not believe in them....

We believe that the Baal-Shem-Tov did away with the last of the demons, which means the world has been demon-free since 1760...

Haven't you ever heard of a dybbuk? It is a spirit that can take over the body. Jewish writers have written about them.

lol, paperback_writer is correct. Although there is both an angelology and demonology within Judaism, it has nowhere near the significance that it does in other religions. We just don't believe in possession, etc., the way others do.

Demons do not care what religion you are. They are out to get everyone, even Jewish people.

I'm sure that you will find it very interesting that most "demon possessions" only occur in people who are already religious, as you have indicated, but, not only that, only people who already believed in demonic possession beforehand! Atheists also seem to have the same immunity from possession that Jews have.

Can I just say. We do not like being called "Jews" Jewish People is much more favourable.

As for your question well enough people have answered in the positive.

The devil doesn't have the chutzpah to possess one of the chosen people.
