Best genre of metal?

What is your favorite genre of metal, and what is your favorite band in that genre? Right now I'm torn between Thrash (Sodom) and Power (Rhapsody or Manowar).

Update:

Megadeth are definetly in my top five thrash bands.

Update 2:

I know about metal, trust me. I just want to know your guys' favorites. Also, Symphony X are amazing, Paradise Lost is runner up for album of the year.

    Power, Thrash, Speed, Glam, and Heavy Metal!

    Power Metal and Melodic Death Metal are the best, music without melody, harmony, or let alone decent guitar riffs, is not music at all, or a mix like Raintime does.. Folk metal is good also, Eluveitie, Korpiklaani, Elvenking..

    It all depends on what you like I guess.. I prefer the clean high pitched vocals though. It's why I like Power over Melo-Death, my favorite band is Freedom Call.. But I think bands should be inspired from Firewind, first and foremost..

    Trash metal and my favorite Band of that genre is Metallica.

    Melodic Death Metal.

    Best From Europe.

    Ex. In Flames, Soilwork, Insomnium, Children Of Bodom.

    I love all metal though.

    Thrash metal.., nothing is better. And sodom rules. Anyone that loves sodom as much as I do has my utter most respect

    My favorite is Black Metal & Gothic Metal.

    Black Metal=Gorgoroth, Immortal, 1349.

    Gothic Metal=Lacrimosa.
