I have a weird interpretation of religion?

Alright, I hope this is not offensive; I mean you no harm and I believe everyone has a right to their own opinions and thoughts, allow me mine.

My 'religion' is a mixture of many different ones. Something like Wicca/Buddist/Catholic.

I believe in the Buddist idea of afterlife and enlightenment. Also, I know abit of the anchient findings of the true preachings of Jesus (which is disputable of corse). He seemed to me preaching more about enlightenment and knowlage than sin, I don't really see anything as sinful. I bet I'm a sinner then? Anyways, I also believe in the Godess. I believe in the prayers and rituals that most wiccans preform to connect themselves to her and try to better their position in life. I believe that the more you try to better yourself the closer you are to enlightenment.

Might there be anyone who agree's with me?

Update:

I apologise, but I am rather disinterested in those of you who disagree, and care to only say I am wrong. Thank you, to those of you whom agree- I forget how to tell you that personally, so I type this in hopes you might see it.

Oh and yes, I am quite goofy.

I am kind of the same way, although we don't have similar views. I don't follow a particular religion but I pick some beliefs that I like from every religion, even Science, etc. and put them together. So I wouldnt say I have one religion in particular nor am I an agnostic or atheist. I have my own set of beliefs, some I created and the others I got from all other beliefs, religion, or philosophies.

No it's not weird. I think you should be proud of yourself because you are able to get out of the conventional loyalty to a particular group and able to seek your own truth.

Dear Rachel, I commend u for your stance, but I was raised in a very religious home. And yet I follow the Wicca ways. We all have a right to our beliefs. And no one should violate that right. Although people will criticize your decisions. To me in time u will pick the religon u are most comfortable with never be afraid to explore your options.

I believe a lot like you also and if that's a sin then I'm with you on that but I know my belief, being pagan, I share my life with other's in my home of different religions and I find combining them makes everything clear in my life too!

I know this cherry picking of beliefs really agitates a lot of people on here but I think your openness to all spiritual offerings is great. I have some-OK, a lot- of trouble with organized religion but I actively seek spiritual outlets and believe strongly in the power of faith. You seem to be finding ways to better yourself, find peace and haven't needed to vilify and condemn others to do it. Sounds like you're way ahead of the people stuck/brainwashed into ridged compliance with just one religion. I say: keep seeking!

I agree the Jesus teachings were very Buddhist, but christians have distorted his words to mean something completely different, almost the opposite

I am an atheist who takes inspiration from other religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism and yet I do not accept everything they teach as true.

You are not weird. Exploring is a good thing.

Follow where the information takes you....

The above is along the lines which I had been thinking of, for a long time ... only now it is confirmed, what I suspected all along...

Your view a hodgepodge of disparate philosophies. Perhaps you need to study various religions in greater detail, and don't go by what you like but with what appears to be more consistent. Truth cannot be mixed with falsehood. Either a religion is true or it's false.

  • You sure have a right to your opinion. Mine is that you are a bit goofy.

    ADD:

I'm sorry, you seem like a sweet young lady. I don't want to sound mean. Maybe instead of goofy, I should have said confused.

    Not me.

But you have a right to your beliefs.
