Baker's Basics?
I took a year of culinary, and fell in love. I love to bake, especially. I just moved, and my cupboards are kinda bare. Im planning on buying basic baking essentials, and so far my list is:
Sugar
brown sugar
flour
eggs
butter
vanilla extract
nutmeg
Yeast
I already have cinnamon, so that's good too. I was just wondering if im missing something (which i am afraid i am...). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Powdered sugar (for frostings, glazes, etc)
baking powder
baking soda
salt
I love to cook & bake so I have a collection of different extracts (I started with peppermint & added one every time I went shopping) so I can get a lot of different flavors in my cakes & candies.
You might just glance through a favorite cookbook & see what types of basic ingredients you find. It looks like you have most of the basics though.

baking soda
baking powder
milk/cream
chocolate chips or squares
food coloring
other flavored extracts (almond, peppermint)
cocoa powder
confectioners sugar
cake flour (not used often but if you're going to be a master baker)
salt
cream of tartar (not used too often but sometimes)
and do you have all your hardware? cake pans, muffin tins, offset spatula, rubber spatulas, candy thermometer, cookie sheets, parchment paper, pastry bag....
Enjoy, baking is really so much fun.
