where do i back my support?

this is a huge dilemma as picking the next leader of the free world would be. ive been a friend of baracks for awhile and he is very sincere and would make one great president....not to mention i feel like there no escaping the inevitable with his upcoming inauguration BUT with the recent events of bhutto's assasination AND without holding any bias, ive always agreed and been intruiged by joe biden of whom i have met as well but am not as close of friends with. the slogan "joe is right" is completely accurate and when you talk about experience and what change is needed now, i feel that joe is the one at this point in time. however, i may have to resort back to my choice of obama because biden may not...unfortunately..be around to challenge the top 3 in his party.

Update:

so im just saying its a shame many people are not choosing biden because if more people caucused for him, and he actually had a chance at the nomination, he would be the clear choice

Well I have been following this race extremely closely for the past couple of months and I'd have to say Obama all the way. Since Biden has the experience, but not the correct support, it's a very far stretch for him to actually win. Obama's lack of experience with politics may just be what we need. Someone who is not tainted and can speak more in line with the average American. Unlike some of the other candidates (hilary) he doesn't flip-flop on the issues and stays behind his words. We don't just need change. We need change for the better and Obama's the one who can carry that plan out.

I agree with you on Biden. And I am a Republican. Him, Obama, and Richardson are the only ones I would concider voting for who would have a (D) next to their name on the ballot. Well, maybe Dodd, I would have to read more about him.

There are more than a few Republicans who will not get my vote under any circumstance. Rudy, McCain, and Romney come to mind. Fred Thompson is another. I don't trust Romney, and he's a Mormon, which I used to be, McCain is soft on immigration, a criminal offense in my book, especially coming from a border state, and Rudy and Fred, and McCain, decided that they don't want Iowans to vote for them, that's why they didn't come to the Straw Poll.

Hey, call that last one petty, I don't care. I have been voting for 17 years, and never once voted for any of them. I have clearly demonstrated I can get through election day without voting for them. And I will do it again.

Actually, being kind of greedy, I hope a Democrat gets elected so that in 2011, there will be another Iowa Straw Poll. I had a lot of fun at the last one, which I waited 20 years to go to. I was too young in 87, and I was stationed in Korea in both 1995 AND 1999.

Is this a game called Fantasy Politics? Joe Biden? Obama? I don't believe it. A Republican is going to win because the Democrats don't have an electable candidate.

You should vote for the candidate that you think will best serve our nation effectively, regardless of how he or she is polling.

Senator Obama is a terrible choice. According the NY Times, he missed 70% of Senate votes & the votes he actually bothered to show up for were marked present.. His sixth and seventh important acts as a senator were to vote for a bill that made it nearly impossible for ordinary people to sue giant corporations who rob & defraud. He voted for President Bush's energy bill, sending more than $13 billion in subsidies and tax breaks to oil, coal, and nuclear companies. He voted to allow credit card companies to raise interest rates over 30 percent. He spoke out against the Patriot Act, only to vote in favor of reauthorizing the Patriot Act, he cannot pledge to have all troops out of Iraq by 2013, supported Bush's sanctions against Iran and co-sponsored a bill designating the Iranian National Guard a terrorists organization, he implied he'd invade Pakistan, he favors amnesty for illegal immigrants, he is for entitlement programs that will increase the deficit leaving the burden on taxpayers and accepts contributions from influential lobbyists, corporations & special interest groups, while claiming he's the "anti-establishment" candidate.

Senator Biden however is by far the most intelligent, capable & expierenced democrat running. (On the republican side the same can be said about Congressman Paul).. I can't make the choice for you, but I surely hope you vote for the candidate that shares your vision for the future of our great country.

Biden clearly has the experience and the smarts. The trouble with Biden is that he has too much political baggage. Barrack, on the other hand has no political baggage and the smarts, but he has no experience. Personally, I'd go with the experience, but it's your decision.

First, I have to say I am glad you care. Most people are not even following the political scene right now.

I am pro-Obama. I do feel he is sincere and does not spout the same old, same old. I do feel change will be his campaign promise that acutally comes to reality.

go to youtube, and have a look at Ron Paul he is very sincere, and he speaks honestly he also believes in the constitution , less big govt., more individual rights, fiscal mgmt., & no income tax - maybe Americans aren't ready for someone who is truthful with morals and ethics, but judge for yourself - from what I have seen and heard of and from him it is almost like listening to a founding father
