Does anyone know where my friend can buy a "child leash"?

She is going to a place this coming week and needs one for her 2 yr old because they do not allow strollers. She needs to buy it IN STORE and not online because she does not have time to wait for shipping. Thanks!

Update:

Thanks! I looked on Walmart and Targets web sites for her but did not see them. Maybe they just dont list them online. And The WingHunter..I dont find it bizzare...my mom used one on me in the 80's when we went to large places where I could get lost...its for safety reasons. Thanks though!

Update 2:

Skaizun...almost ALL areas have Walmart and Target and such...you dont need to know what area I live in. Dont bither answering the question if you have nothing better to say. Karen and Melissa....that does not answer my question so please stop trying to acrue points by responiding with inadequate answers..thanks.

Update 3:

Thanks Missy! Atleast you understand the purpose...some people on her are ridiculous. Thanks to everyone who actually provided an answer that helped to my question.

    At a Walmart.

They have very cute ones that are animal backpacks with long tails... Great for the purpose of keeping tabs on your child, bringing snacks, and not seeming so obvious about what your intention is.

Otherwise they have a more "harness" type with Elmo on it.

They are in the baby section at walmart.

Oh and before people go criticizing this ladys friend, if you were unable to restrain a small child in a busy place with a stroller you have to come up with another method. You cannot carry the child the whole time that is not pratical, so you have to use another method to make sure that no one steals your kid or that your kid doesn't get seperated from you.. It only takes a split second for those things to happen and anyone who tells me that they could "watch" their child the whole time is insane... so leave it. Also holding hands only works so long with a young child.

Okay, I don't know where to buy them in the US but they have come a long way since the types you would have seen in the 80's! They used to look like dog harnesses back then and I used to think they were bad too, but as a mother of a 2 year old I now see that anything that keeps them safe is worth it. I want to get one of the cute backpack style ones they make now which have animal faces on them and the strap part is kind of like a tail that you can hang on to, they are cute as well as practical!

Sorry that wasn't helpful but I think they are a good idea so good luck to your friend.

    walmart,target,babies r us.

And to everyone who thinks it's wrong to put a leash on a child: It's not about controlling your child.I use one with my daughter (who is very well behaved) when we go to crowded places such as the zoo. It's a safety measure. It's very easy to get seperated in crowded places and children get kidnapped in broad daylight all the time.Besides, they are not uncomfortable and many of them have fun characters on them. (my daughters' has elmo) I'd much rather strap a harness to my child and get criticized than take a chance on something bad happening.

I got mine at Target. A cute Elmo one! That was about 5 years ago, though. good luck. They really help out alot!

    =0)

Ignore rude, ignorant people who think every child is the same & would rather say "THEIR CHILD" never did this... or MY child wouldn't do that .....

They work great in large crowds & is much better than risking the child run off.

I seen some really cute ones at wal-mart for fairly cheap, under $15.

And it is a whole lot harder for someone to steal your kid if they are attached to you instead of just holding your hand or standing next to you. Her child is 2 years old and going to somewhere very public. I rather be safe than sorry with my child. My mother used a child restraint on my little sister who had sever ADHD. She neevr left the house without it. It isn't inhumaine to keep a child safe, it is stupid to put your child in harms way.

If she can't find one close by, I know a couple of women who just bought dog harnesses that were large enough to fit the child. Then a clip on leash. You have to go to one of those big pet stores for that though.

We have a great leash that looks like a monkey backpack. Our son loves wearing it and it helps keep him out of dangerous situations like running onto a busy street to chase after something. It was only 10 bucks.

    Check it out.

    Hope that helps.

Don't shop at WalMart by the way. Screw that place.

The walmart ones are great. My son has the one that looks like a dog and the one that looks like a monkey.

He loves them and used to wear them around the house all day for no reason (with the "tail"/leash unclipped obviously). The monkey one doesn't show the dirty like the doggy one ;-)
