Is it normal that I´m getting annoyed?

I live in the US and just because I have a Spanish last name they assume we don't speak English and we get our mail in Spanish. It really ticks me off because neither my husband or I were educated in Spanish and I can't speak it at all.

You are right, it is very racist, but I am sure people in other countries who are viewing yahoo in English get the same message to view it in their countries languauge. Kinda like Yahoo saying "HEY STUPID, WE HAVE IT FOR YOU OVER HERE, IN A LANGUAGE YOU CAN UNDERSTAND." Yahoo doesn't give a crap if you find it offensive so just grin and bare it.

Well, I'm sure it detects your ip address that indicates Mexico. I think you should complain directly to Yahoo, especially with the "...and slowly the frames seem to be becoming more racist and offensive In the way that since I´m from mexico I cannot know , use or even comprehend yahoo in english. I find this extremely insulting I know english, know the US, And most important I hate being told to use something I don´t want to use..."

Too many websites think if they can write code to detect things they are providing a service. I'm sick of seeing foreign languages come up during a search when I specifically have yahoo set for English only. Instead of them just saying they can't find any more matches they are determined to give me something that I can not read, just to prove they have indexed it.

I don't blame you. But it could be worst. Think about being in China or other countries. Those block most U.S. sites and filter what you can view. So Yahoo doesn't think you can speak English. Half the people here who are from American can't write a complete sentence in English. I say just let it go.

the reason why it's like that is because of your "relatives" here in the US. If it didn't have that pop up then they would be crying racism AND not to mention that Hispanic population here is America is 1/4 of the cosumers. If they have Mexicans that can't or won't learn English then how are they going to "consume" more products if their yahoo browers are in English. Get it. it's BS, I agree, but whatcha gonna do when the Media and Corp's are Liberal generated.

This happens a great deal- even the British and the US sites get cross-hatched. My advice is to use Yahoo.es from Spain- often it cross-hatches with the Mexican yahoo. It is annoying, but they are only machines following a program that is used by millions and millions of people every minute of every day.

I find shots of tequila often calm me down enough to keep from throwing the computer out of the window.

ok, they only have tht button in case people dont speak english and need the mexican site. dont take it so personally because some people cant speak english and need the spanish one! Just stop overthinking things. yahoo is just trying to make things helpfull to EVERYONE.

Have you set up a 'my yahoo' page? If you set up one of these pages, it personalizes it and the generic trash should go away.

Why don't you just change your information to read that you are from the US instead of Mexico, that way it will quit showing you the Mexican box....good luck!
