whats the make of your PC?
mine does this now and again its a design fault if you miss connect the usb lead to the usb receiver slightly and it knocks your remove hardware network off. in the bottom right corner there should be an icon there with a green arrow over a drive unit (Gray), if its not then open the side off your PC and locate where the card reader plugs onto the mother board and unplug then replug it back in. all this should be done carefully and switch off the computer if you don't feel competent in doing this then get someone who doe's, hope this helps, my machine is a advent with four card readers etc built into the front.

Last resort tactic - Go into Device manager and remove the USB controller drivers (I think they're called the USB Hub controller - you'll need to look down the list and see). Reboot the PC and windows should reinstall them for you - might fix the problem.

you probably could desire to apply a USB-MiniUSB cable, or a memory card adapter. they are very low priced and can be chanced on very almost everywhere (superb purchase, Circuit city, Radioshack, everywhere like that). The Cable will circulate from a port on your digicam to the laptop. The memory card adapter will circulate into the laptop, and additionally you will insert the cardboard immediately into that.
