whats your opinion?

do you think a 15 year old can:

1. wear heels

2. wear a thong

3. date

4. drink on special occasions (eg. new years eve)

5. go places without parental supervision (eg. mall)

6. have a job

7. wear clothes for older people (eg. more revealing dresses)

8. go into the city with friends

9. go to concerts

10. go to parties (not wild, just parties in general)

Update:

1. wear heels

2. wear a thong (this is only for special occasions where its better to wear one than have panty lines)

3. date

4. drink on special occasions (eg. new years eve)

5. go places without parental supervision (eg. mall)

6. have a job

7. wear clothes for older people (eg. more revealing dresses)

8. go into the city with friends (with adults nearby, like in the same shopping area)

9. go to concerts (same as above)

10. go to parties (not wild, just parties in general) (yes, with supervision)

    1. Heels- I'd say special occasions sure, school maybe not such a good idea. Boots or sandals, don't see a problem.

    2. Thong- Personally I wore them, but never really found them comfortable anyways

    3. Date- If you're in high school I would say it's okay, as long as the 15 yr old has been given the birds and bees lecture and the parents get the chance to meet significant other. A 15 yr old will probably date anyways, so it is better to be involved as a parent and be in the know.

    4. Drink- On special occasions maybe one tiny glass of wine.

    5. Mall- Don't see why not. Parents should drop-off pick-up and know who else is going.

    6. Job- I would really wait on the job. I worked and it interferred with high school. When you're 15, $300 paychecks seem like a fortune.

    7. Clothes- Slightly revealing clothes ok, not so bad. Anything really revealing tends to get 15 yr old boys thinking your "easy". It's hard to really put guidelines on fasion. Everyone wants to look good and feel good, but I'd be careful about wrong impressions

    8. City- for a day trip sure! Cruising downtown at night might not be such a good idea.

    9. Concerts-Don't see a problem as long as parents drop-off/pick-up and know who their kids are going with.

    10. Parties- If it is a well known friend and there's supervision sure! Would probably want to keep tabs though. Even well meaning parties can turn into wild ones.

15 yr olds will do what they want anyways, and it is far better to help them make good choices, and let them do some things, then to have them sneak out and do it anyways.

do you think a 15 year old can:

    1. wear heels - Yes

    2. wear a thong - No

    3. date - Only in groups, and if the parents approve of the date

    4. drink on special occasions (eg. new years eve) - Alcohol?! NO! That's ILLEGAL!

    5. go places without parental supervision (eg. mall) - again, only in groups

    6. have a job - Yes

    7. wear clothes for older people (eg. more revealing - dresses) No

    8. go into the city with friends - No.

    9. go to concerts - Unsupervised? No.

    10. go to parties (not wild, just parties in general) - Not unless I meet the adults who will be chaperoning.

    1. Sure, if it's whether appropriate (no heels in the snow!) and if they aren't stripper heels (3 inches tall, or patent leather, or clear with lights in them).

    2. Nope. I won't buy them for her, so she has to wait until she has a job and buy them for herself.

    3. She can have a "boyfriend", but she won't be going anywhere with him alone until she is old enough to have a job to pay for the date and her own car to get her there (16 years old, or more if she chooses not to have a job and a car).

    4. No. I'm legally responsible for her until she is 18 years old, and alcohol can lead people to make decisions that have bad legal consequences. Once she's 18 if she chooses to break the law and drink underage then *she* will be held responsible so that's between her and the cops. Until then, no way.

    5. Depends on the place. NEVER the mall...there is an unusual amount of drug activity that happens at malls (at least the ones where I've lived) and a lot of child predators as well. If she has a place that she needs to go (library, etc) then sure, she can go alone as long as she takes a cell phone and checks in, but we don't let our kids just "hang out" especially without parental supervision.

    6. You can't get a job at 15 in my state, but if the law changed then yes we'd let her work.

    7. She can wear clothes that are age appropriate. She can wear things that are more revealing than clothes she wore when she was 10, but they'd be less revealing than I'd allow if she were 17.

    8. If parents were in the same vicinity, sure.

    9. If parents were WITH THEM (not just in the same vicinity), sure.

    10. It depends...grandma's birthday party? Of course. A wedding? Sure. Just some general hang out party at her friend's house? Nope. Those things turn south way too fast.

    1. yes not like stripper heels but regular heels are ok

    2. no opinion here

    3. yes as long as parents meet him and they are not left in empty house together

    4. NO! Drinking is not ok at that age. The age is 21 for a reason.

    5. Depends on where all and who else will be there. Malls here will not allow minors without adult supervision on the weekends and after 6 pm on all other days, and it has made a great change in the kids who hangout there.

    6. Yes, as long as it doesn't take away from school.

    7. Would depend on how more revealing

    8. Would depend on what for, who's going, and what time they would be home

    9. Again depends, what kind of concert, who will be there, etc

    10. As long as there is supervision (i don't mean parents right next to the kids, but home and checking in semi-regularly)

    Hope this helps!

Source(s): 4 Kids and I work at the mall where there are lots of teens who need supervision.

    1. wear heels --- Low ones, sure.

    2. wear a thong --- Nope...no need.

    3. date --- "Group Dates" or chaperoned only.

    4. drink on special occasions (eg. new years eve) --- It is ILLEGAL for her to have alcohol in the US and giving it to her is committing a CRIME.

    5. go places without parental supervision (eg. mall) --- It totally would depend on her personality and trustworthiness.

    6. have a job --- Same as above.

    7. wear clothes for older people (eg. more revealing dresses) --- Not really, but I would have to judge each clothing article individually.

    8. go into the city with friends --- Not w/o an adult!

    9. go to concerts --- See above...

    10. go to parties (not wild, just parties in general) --- Only with an adult present at the party.

    Yes 2 all.

As long as you don't have unsafe sex with multiple partners, don't abuse drugs or become a bully.

I believe the way teens conduct theirselves is more important than how they dress.
