Can you transfer cold by kissing?
For 3 consecutive days before the new year, I was sneezing a lot, got watery eyes and had a terrible runny or clogged nose. The day after I got healed, my husband was experiencing the same thing now. We are affectionate to each other and he loves to kiss me even if Im sick. Is it possible that I infect him? What should he do? (aside from nasal spray) No smartass answer pls!

Of course you can and especially the cold virus, this is probably the most common transferable virus on the planet... and probably why it is known as the COMMON COLD, but don't worry he would probably have caught it anyway, the virus as far as I am aware is airborne too, that is why you only need to be in the same room as someone who has it and you will catch it. As regards what should he do, blow your nose as often as possible, take pain killers as often as you need them and drink plenty of vitamin C, then carry on as normal. Try hot baths or showers with the steam to help loosen up the congestion and even lemsips, the original ones, remember though they contain paracetamol so dont take paracetamol based painkillers along with them.

I didn't know ppl still didn't know...
...a cold can be transferred by shaking hands (if the person with the cold touches their mouth/nose/face with it and doesn't wash it before going off shaking hands with others) or simply through the air...so kissing is a sure way to transmit the illness.
Also, a person does not get a "cold" because of the temperature of the environment (winter, fall, etc) that just gives you sore throats, etc if you're not careful. A cold is always transferred from one person to another.

Yes dear.
The so called "common cold" is a viral infectious disease.
Even today, there is no "cure" for this disease. It usually subsides by itself after a few days.
The "treatments" are mostly used to attenuate the symptoms and also to try to avoid common complications.
In a familly setting, re infection is common and make the whole thing last longuer because of it.

Honestly, I read an article in a magazine that said its only possible to get sick from kissing another person if your mucus touches the other persons mucus. Supposedly there is something in human saliva that kills germs that cause people to get sick, the germs are only in your mucus, not saliva.

Of course! The cold is a virus that may be transmitted thorugh air (sneezing, coughing, ect.) through direct contact (kissing, touching something with the virus then licking your fingers, ect.) and any other contact.

mhm you can pass germs like that. when you or him are sick theres not much you can do to avoid getting since im guessing you live together? the bacteria is passed on through the air and even if you dont kiss or go near eachother its still probable your going to get sick. you should probably take vitamin c to help fight off germs.

Yes it is very possible that you gave it to him. If it is possible to get a cold from co-workers then it is easy to get a cold from your mate.
Try Nyquil and Day Quil or Tylenol Cold Day and Night formula.
Good Luck- hope you get to feeling better.

Of course you can. If you have a cold and you guys are kissing and doing all that, then you gave him your germs and now he's sick...hmmm that's love people.
