What should I display on an LCD in a law firm?

I've got a 42 inch plasma LCD in a law firm. What kind of random stuff should I display on it? For example, are there any cool screen savers or videos that would fit in?

Other than creating a PowerPoint giving information about your firm, you may look at an RSS screensaver tied to something like CNN to show quick clips of current news.

My advice would be to play something that is completely different than what they are there to see the attorney for - it would help them relax, take their mind off of it, and in the worst case would keep them occupied if there is a long wait. It also depends on the specialty of the law firm. If it is a criminal defense firm, then something perhaps less "intellectual" would be more appropriate (no offense to all you criminals out there!). If it is a family law firm, then don't show any shows that have divorced couples in them - or married couples, for that matter! If the firm specializes in corporate, Constitutional or other civil matters, then perhaps something like CNN or Headline News that would keep the clients up-to-the-minute on breaking news that they would otherwise be missing if away from their offices.

My other suggestion would be to make sure that whatever you're showing does not repeat often. The worst thing is to get into a waiting room and have the same thing shown over and over and over again.

OK - one last suggestion: If you're going to have television showing, have a remote handy so the channel can be changed depending on the client(s) present.

I don't think screensavers would be worth having a plasma tv - but if you want to show videos, then the same suggestions as above apply.

My suggestion is do not display any screen saver. Set your advanced power savings settings to turn the image off when not in use. The worst enemy any type of screen has us usage. The more it is used more life is taken from its electronic components. I never use screen savers. They accomplish nothing in our days besides waste energy.

Screen savers originally came out to protect monitors that had static (non-changing) displays. This would cause the static image to be permanently imprinted on the inside of the CRT. Then came along the Power Saving options for the reasons explained.

In a law firm if I was working with confidential material or data that if accessed by unauthorized people could hurt my job or a client's confidentiality; I would turn the monitor off and require a password to be able to activate it again.

For starters I'd display their logo until I found something everyone liked.

I'd personally have CourtTV on so that someone waiting has something to watch.

If it is cold outside you could display a fire - I have seen DVDs of fireplaces at Walmart.
