Help - I need a recommendation for a long range wireless set up on a desk top?

I am looking for advice on how to accomplish this scenario: my office is about 8 blocks from home. I have a wireless router at my house, and no internet at the office. I want to get a wireless connection at the office from the router at home.

Is there a recommended wireless card or set-up for a desktop computer that I could use to connect my office desk-top with my wireless router at home? Right now, it is too far for a regular wireless, at least, my laptop will not detect it......

Will I need to boost the router also/instead?

Thanks!

I think Wireless N has the best range and you will still likely need a booster. Can you set up the router to have line of site to your office? Walls and such will block the signal (especially brick or metal).
