Will we ever see un popular drivers in Nascar lead at Daytona or Talladega?

I know that Ken Schrader lead at Talladega back in the 90's. I also knew that Buck Shot Jones lead in Talladega in 03. I love Nascar. I can't wait to see the Big One.

I see what you call "unpopular drivers" lead at almost every race. It's not hard to do, if you are on the lead lap. You just do not pit on the same lap as the leaders, and stay out. If you are the first car to stay out, you will lead that lap. Most of them do that so they can have the 5 bonus points for leading a lap. At the end of the season, if you lead 1 lap in every race, you would have 180 bonus points, which could move you up in standing many, many places.

  • Man.. There are so many lead changes and different lap leaders @ Daytona, and Talladega it's not even funny.. You see the guys hardly ever winning, leading laps and running near the front all the time @ those 2 tracks..

Get real.. Your thinking about F1

You will never see an unpopular driver lead at Daytona or Talladega, because there are no unpopular drivers racing in NASCAR.

no matter what anything is possible there are about 63 lead changes every talladega race so thats plenty of oppertunity for example a nobody like david regan or somone too take the lead for a couple laps but its restrictor plate racing anythings possibe

Restrictor plate tracks are notorious for having the most lead changes so I am sure you will see a lot of different drivers leading at least one lap.

That's why a lot of people like the superspeedways, it's like musical chairs at 190 mph.

Dude, you have to be new to NASCAR! OMG, what are you talking about? Do you know how many drivers got their 1st win at Dega? Holy...I can accept you like Nascar, just do a little research about its past. You will be enlightened to a many wonderful of things about the sport.

there are miriads of drivers that fill the bill for winning, as for the big one, depends on the new car, could be a lot of little ones...regardless I dont wait for the crashes, thats the down side, I wish them all long lives

Hell Derrik Cope won it one year, and Sterling Marlin won it twice so that blows this theory out of the water.

Wow a thumbs down, must be the same genius who had my Dario Franchetti question deleted.
