what is the floor of a horse barn made of?

What is the foundation. I am helping someone build a horse barn and need some info.

    Mine are dirt and I keep shavings on top. You can have them concreted, but then you have to keep rubber mats on top of them and shavings on top of that. I don't think wood is good because the urine will make it rot and if your horse falls threw then you have other problems. Hope this helped.

    The floor of a horse barn can be made of pretty much anything as long as the footing is stable and sound. It's what you cover the floor with that's more important.

    For ease of maintenance, ridged concrete is best.

    Mine is dirt. Some people pack rocks. Other people put cement foundations. But if you do that you either have to bed it heavily so the horses don't get hurt or put down rubber mats.

    concrete w/ dirt on top or wood if the actual stable part is on top of an open space.
