The screen went out on my Creative Zen V, what can I do?

I got a Creative Zen V 1GB MP3 player last February, and the screen went out a few months later. I should have returned it, but I couldn't find the box or User's Manual. I got an iPod for Christmas, but my husband wants to use my old mp3 player. Can the screen be fixed? Can I return it, or is it far too late for that?

I don't even know if they make this model any more!!

What can I do?

Sounds like your LCD screen has gone bad. I have heard people say LCD screens can be fixed but only by a professional service person as you have to have a special tool to take the old screen out. It may be too late to do a return, especially if you don't have the receipt, manuals or box that it came in. There are many inexpensive mp3 players out there that won't break your pocket if you could afford to purchase another one.
