What kind of nutrients can be found in the yolk of an egg?

Is the yolk protein or is it the white of the egg that's made of protein?

Thanks.

100g of egg yolk, raw, fresh contains the following

    Calories/serving 317 Calories from fat 239

    Total fat; 27g

    saturated fat 10g

    trans fat 0

    Cholesterol; 1234mg

    sodium; 48mg

    total carbohydrate; 4g

    protein 16g

    sugar 1g

    water; 52.3g

100g of egg white, raw, fresh contains the following

    Calories/serving 48 Calories from fat 2

    Total fat; 0g

    saturated fat 0g

    trans fat 0

    Cholesterol; 1234mg

    sodium; 166mg

    total carbohydrate; 1g

    sugar 1g

    protein 11g

    water; 87.6g

The information is based on 100g, this being the industry standard. Different size eggs provide differing contents. If you live in the UK the Nutritional information is printed on the inside of the lid, but not broken down as white and yolk

Have provided you with the main nutritional data. To provide you with all the data would keep me here for hours typing.

There other vitamins and minerals and others you have never heard of like ash..

Hope this gives to sufficient information . Both the white and yoke contain protein the main difference is in the fat content.

Lots of body builders just use the white to gain protein discarding the yolk
