Quick question about Ipod nano?

My daughter just got one for Christmas. Do you have to go through Itunes for music and stuff, or can you go through any music service(mp3 rocket for example)?

Update:

I have mp3 rocket which I paid for a lifetime membership for unlimited downloads. It just don't make sense that Ipods cost so much and you can only use the service they want you to use for it.

    You have to use iTunes to load music to it. You can still use other music service provided the MP3 is not copyrighted so that you can load it to the nano.

    Go here for more info on loading music to the nano;

    iTunes and you get the music and other stuff you want from the store on their. You'll need a credit card though and I think songs are a dollar. But if you want the music for free get limewire, it might make your comp crash and it is illegal.
