I Have a Problem which sub to pick for spl competition..HELP!!!?

the Orion offers almost 2x the xmax as the FI. so chances are it will be the louder one of the 2. cause its going to move a lot more air.

now if i were making a SPL vehicle, i wouldnt choose either of these. i would choose the world record holder. and that is Pioneer. they hit the world record at 180.5 db with only 12 of these subs.

yeah i know its a 12" woofer, and you want a 15". well they do make this woofer in a 15" i just havent found anyone on the web that sells it, yet.

Fi for the win...like I already said... For strictly competing the BTL is a madman but will sound way better than the Orion... The thing you have to worry most about is that box my friend, what do you have planned? Oh yea and the mtx jackhammer hasn't seen a vehicle yet that can make it( an ungodly expensive woofer) as loud nor as good of sound quality as my friend's 1 18" BTL...And JL is grotesquely overpriced. Forgot to add...For all you "experts" who think Pioneer holds some kind of record, think again. 1 18" Digital Designs sub holds the record for the loudest in the world...look up Alan Dante, Newbs. The fi will sound way better than the pioneer and get plenty loud I promise.

^^^^^^Alan Dante hit 180.5 at a 2x event. That means that it is not officially the record. So pioneer still has the record.

I would go with the FI for a SPL competition.

i would definetly go with that pioneer 15" that metallman was talking about i know a site that sells it and it will definetly outperform both of those subs here it is

it costs alot(almost $800) but it is definetly worth it if your looking for some crazy SPL but if you cannot afford that i would go with the orion HCCA
