If you are a Christian and you've lost a loved one, what I can tell you is:

Jesus is in the business of life not of death. He said of Himself, "I am the resurrection and the life".

Furthermore as Christians, we are instructed to mourn differently. "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Wherefore comfort one another with these words." (See 1 Thessalonians Ch. 4, verses 13-18)

*People die then comes the judgement of God. After that the resurrection. You can't find very much in the Bible to come to the conclusion that God takes people directly to heaven or condemns them to hell right away once they die."

    Thanks for asking.

    Hebrews 9:27-28

27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

People believe many things but the real answer is no one really knows. We have yet to have any objective scientific proof of something of us transcending death. No one has been able to find a soul or energy in us nor to measure any energy leaving our body and surviving after we die. So based on the evidence I think it looks like death is it. I don't think it will bother me once I am dead since I won't know it. I think all my elements will be set free to return to all of nature and eventually the stars from whence they came. I kind of think that is beautiful in a way. In a way we are immortal because our individual elements that make us always exist, taking new shapes and forms. A sort of completely natural reincarnation. While I would like to live a bit longer than the average life span, I don't think eternity would be something pleasant to endure in the long run. It gives me an appreciation for life and my loved ones knowing our time is finite so we should love each other and make life pleasant. I have friends though who believe we reincarnate and others that believe we have a spirit that transcends death and goes to exist in another dimension. These can be nondeistic beliefs as well as religious, they don't require a God to ocur although some who have these beliefs do believe in deities. I also have many people in my life who are religious or believe in God and believe we are judged and go onto either a heaven or hell. Again these are all just speculation, no evidence exists for any of these claims.

Your body will die, but the essential you - call it your spirit - will not. Sometime in the future you will be born again and more than likely not remember this life (although some young children actually do have real memories from past lives).

As you grow from a child to an adult some of the personality of your past lives will be expressed in your personality at that age. Notice how the personality of people often changes quite markedly from early childhood to the end of their teens? Very young children are very selfish as a rule and have little empathy. As you grow older and slip into a more mature personality from the past traits of empathy and altruism may appear (if the person has had sufficient experience in past lives - some have not, hence their very selfish personality).

At the end of your teens you will start exploring new terriroty in your personality. Somewhere around your fifties you start to get in danger of "fossilizing" into the personality you have created, although some go on and start new ventures then and don't fossilize for decades later. Eventually you die and it starts all over again, hopefully a rung higher up the ladder in spiritual evolution.

This is one of the meanings when Jesus said "you must be born again."

Well, when I die, people will cry. I'll be washed, dressed in my chosen clothing, put in a plain pine box and be buried asap, since I refuse embalming. After that, I will rot, provide nutrients to the ground and insects, fulfilling the life cycle.

EDIT - well, when you fail to be specific at first, you get answers like you got. As to the concept of soul - my answer remains the same.

Based not only on my belief but on what the Bible says. Eccl. 9:5,10 when you die you are just dead. But you do have the hope of the resurrection and to live again on earth. Why is it that people don't believe in the resurrection when it is one of the most basic teachings of the Bible?

As a saved believer in Christ, my soul will go to heaven. Then at the Rapture, my body will rise & be glorified and I will stand before Christ at the Bema seat to give an account of my life as a Christian and receive any rewards I have earned. I will cast these crowns at His feet and praise Him, then join Him as He conquers Satan and the Anti-Christ and sets up His millenial kingdom on Earth. After that 1000 years, the Christians will live for eternity in heaven with the Lord, praising Him and reuniting with other believers, learning all the mysteries of the universe and serving Him forever in a perfect sinless place of joy and peace.

There's a lot more about heaven I don't understand, but that's the basic concept as I interpret Scripture. All those who have claimed the blood of Jesus as atonement for their sins can look forward to joining me there.

Cremated. I am so legendary that I will be a ghost. I do believe in stuff even though I question my statements that I make about aliens, and ghosts. But there is cold evidence about ghosts that is mostly true. Many people like me and my friends who slept over at a hotel on spring break experienced sightings of mysterious shadows and sounds.

And Kaitlyn if your atheist why would you believe in being another soul?

Source(s): My friends and I on spring break is my source.

The Bible tells us that when we die our soul is present with Jesus.( if we are a Christian--I don't know if you aren't )THere is a judgement day and the Christians will be welcomed into Heaven and the un-believers will be sent to hell. I long to hear Christ say come, you good and faithful servant. I sure don't want to hear -depart from me you workers of iniquity------If that is said then off to hell you go.

I believe that when I die, my soul will be judge by God whether I'll go to Heaven or Hell.
