Hey i live near Middlesbrough now
Im 16 and i know how 'tough' and 'easy' this can be
Get a cv going, Try to avoid negative things bu dont lie.
Hand your CV into all places of interest, even Fast food outlets.
You dont have to take the job, but u need to keep your options open.
When u hand in a CV, and dont get a response, follow it up with a phone call ,employeers want KEEN employees :)
Best places:
Shops (from the post office to Tesco)
Cafes + Restaurant ( From Mcdonalds to Big restaurants)
Offices (Always need some students to do a bit of admin at minimum wage)
Hope i answered your Q

i have been working since i was 14 years old in my 1st year of high skool. so i speak from experience. the BEST/easiest places 2 get a job at is a small business. technically small businesses dont have 2 follow rules like big companys do. i worked at a local restraunt throughout high skool. it was mom and pop owned so sumtimes i was paid under the table, only needed a work permit the 1st year i worked, only had 1 raise in 4 years, and so on. small businesses hire nebody that is willing 2 work. unless u want 2 work as a bagger at safeway or a fast food restraunt(which alot of the time dont even higher ppl under 18)

At 16 you probably will be able to get a job (after alot of CVs) but at 15 i don't really think anywhere would take you apart from like a paper round. I live in northeast too but im 18. My friends have found it hard getting jobs at 17.

Tesco will hire at 16. I did work-ex for them in the 1990's when I was at school (I was 15), they said they'd hire me as soon as I was 16.
I'm sure this applies to most supermarkets in the UK such as Morrisons and ASDA though not sure how they'd go on with allowing you to do cash handling duties.

Do you have your national insurance number yet?
Most places Will hire you with That :]
Xcept the odd few, chemists , lifeguards etc....
Go On a job hunt in your local shopping centre/ around town. Go into all the shops and ask for application forms, even if a job isnt advertised.( usually better if it is though)
Then fill it in :]

Alot of restaurants will hire you for kitchen work (generally under the table). Either that or fast food. Grocery stores will hire too. The choices kinda suck but hey what are ya gonna do right?

You could try a small branch of shops, or corner shop.
They will take anyone from 14+.
Or a paper round is for children 13+

The problem with getting a job at that age is that you usually have to know someone to get a job there. I'd recommend trying a grocery store.

Ask at a pub to see if they need any glass collectors, or shopwork.. if uve got a national insurance number you can get a job near enough anywhere i think
