Tell your friend to sleep in a different bedroom. Her husband sounds scary. I wonder if it is Alzheimer's disease? My father-in-law became violent at unexpected times when he was in the first stages of Alzheimer's.

Here is what I think: You are not a JW. And 1969 was a very long time ago. I wonder how old you were back then. So why would you try to dig up something from so long ago, and try to discredit JWs with it? Is it any of you business? And how would your own life be judged if a spotlight was put on it? Are you pleasing your God, by hounding a religion which you don't belong to, when you could be welcoming people to your own? And how would your religion fare, if the spotlight were shined on it? The Bible says "No one knows the day or hour." So we always are anticipating it and have had some premature expectations. Just like first century Christians who asked Christ: "Are you restoring the Kingdom at this time?" That said, JWs never said the end would come in 1975, and I talked to people who were alive in that time. Also the Wiki article admits that we never "dogmatically said it would end" that year. We said it was possible and some jumped to conclusions. People have told me that at the time, it was not as big of a deal, until years later when apostates blew it out of proportion. I even see them doing this with things that I have lived through. One opposer that thought I was younger than I am, told me: "Do you know what they did back in the 80s?" It was something yawnworthy which I knew firsthand and was absolutely no big deal at all.

He needs some anger management. She should not have to walk on eggs for him. Sleep deprived or not! There is no excuse for a man to call a woman the B word for any reason. I do not know of any sleeping disorder that causes a person to be a clod! ♥

Edit: I just read your last addition. He is obviously not getting the proper rest if up that early. Might need a sleep aid until he gets used to good rest. Still not an excuse as far as I am concerned.

    Hello,

Yes I have new of this happening before.

Sometimes people have sleeping problems, these problems do not go away when the person first wakes up, the person is not truly awake, yet.

Many people do not talk about night terrors. If the person in question has health problems or were in a war or other traumatic experience the person is more apt to not talk about it.

Older people tend not to talk about such things as night terrors/night mares. Older meaning 70's up.

If the person in question is ok with going to a doctor and talking about sleep patterns the lack of or these night terrors this would be a option. Some people do get violent but this is rare.

Good luck and by the way I have night terrors/night mares and I wake the same way. I do not talk about mine at times and my Mr. now tries to make me talk about it, it has been helping....

I wonder if Miz D is right - early stages of Alzhimers. It would be a good idea to have the Dr. check him out.

I used to be cranky when awakened, too much work tooo little sleep, but not crazy.

In the meantime, your friend might want to move to a room with a lock on it and avoid waking her husband at least until she can get him to the Dr.

I would say is to look at what happens when and just before he wakes up. It just might be that something is causing the anger just before. I know if someone is disturbing my sleep, then I will get really anger at them, but When I wake up I am fine. So I am not sure he might want to talk to a doctor if it is serious enough to cause concern.

I think its kinda normal I know a lot of people like this, Until they have had their caffeine, When my 80 yr old sister lived a lone she would call me at 4a.m, I didn't take it out on her but, I acted like I had eaten werewolf cookies all day, I have a real hard time getting to sleep. so when I do get there leave me alone EDIT my sister say her husband does the same thing and he tells her he gets lonely, and just wants her to get up, better yet maybe that's who you are taking about lol

I used to be like this. Heaven help anyone who woke me up. My parents were afraid of me and set 3 alarm clocks outside of my bedroom door to make sure that I got up at the right time. However, I was in my teens then, going to college, studying hard and had an enormous amount of stress to deal with from both Professors and parents alike. A session with the school shrink convinced me that I was correct. Stress was affecting my subconscious behavior!

I only know about waking someone up whos in a deep sleep and their natural reaction is to react violently and it isnt because they want to. sleep walkers also have mixed reactions when they are roused from their sleep. it depends on whether the mood lasts the whole day or if its just for that time that hes woken up. it might just be his subconsious state acting out.

I get cranky if someone wakes me up when I’m sound asleep too!!! Sounds to me like he needs a NAP in the afternoon! I don’t however call anyone ugly names when I wake up, that is just not very nice and I do want to have a nice day!
