How long before I will see a change?
I have been doing cardio for forty minutes a day, everyday. And I have been working hard, like sweating and stuff. I also have started a workout and food journal to track my calories and such. I am staying right around 1500 calories on the intake. I know that is is healthy to lose 1-2 pounds a week but I was hoping for that initial big drop to motivate me.
Additional details:
30yr old female
5'8" 204lbs
I have been working on it for 2 weeks.

When I weighed 200 lbs, I was pretty much doing the exact same thing that you are doing now. I was on the tredmill for about 40-45 minutes, and I kept my calorie intake to a minimum of 1200.
I saw results in the first week, actually. How much have you lost so far? I lost about 8 lbs in the first week, but I'm sure age probably had a thing or two to do with that.
When I went on that diet, I lost about 40 pounds in my first two months. Of course I know that it's not usual, but those were my personal results. It's been two years, and I have been able to keep it all off.
Keep it up, the weight will come off! In a year from now, you'll be glad that you went on this diet! :)

You should really do some research and make sure the 1500 calories a day isn't too few for daily intake considering you're working out. If it is too few, your body can tend to hold onto everything its got. Good luck!

you may find that doing it that long every day may be a prob
usually with excercise you will see results within a month.
the thing is first of all muscle is heavier than fat, so as you work out and burn fat, and convert it to muscle you weight won't change much. just worry about losing inches not so much the weight. it will all come in time
you may want to work hard 3 days then take a break for a day then repeat. this gives the body time to recover, heal, and grow.

Don't get discouraged........the rule of thumb is 6 weeks. Then you'll notice huge changes and you'll start to drop the pounds like crazy. You also might not notice as much because you see yourself everyday, but others who don't see you as much will definitely notice. Keep going, you're making a life change and that is impressive. Good Luck

You didn't say if you lost anything yet but I would have to believe you have. At first the changes will be subtle. You friends and family have to have told you your face looks thinner. That's the first place people usually see it. If you stick the regime you are doing it should be soon that big changes are seen. Good Luck.

you should start seeing results better quickly now.
but to tell you to truth i would change your calories intake to 1200 instead.
your results will come alot faster if you change it to that.
also eat vegies and fruits and cut out all bread and sugar.
good luck and happy losing <3 =D
peace out =P
