Can I trade in my car even though I just filed bankrupt?
I want to trade in my 05 maxima for something much cheaper that I can afford. Now that I am tryng to move away from my boyfriend I wont be able to afford to pay rent and this car note.
Is there anyway that I can trade it in even though I am newly bankrupt?

If you just filed, you need to seek legal advice to change the items listed in your assets and liabilities. If you have already had the bankruptcy hearing and it was granted you can do anything you want with this car.

Sure you can trade it in. You may have to pay the difference. Your next car may have to be a cash deal, or buy here pay here lot. In the long run you may save some money.

It will be very tough....make you sure go to a good dealership that will stand by you and help...it will be tough however, qualifying for a car loan when you just filed bankruptcy....it will be very hard to qualify for anything for about 5-10 years!!! Good luck though and I wish the best for you!!!

Do you owe on it still, It depends, you can always trade it in.
