have you ever had a judge that was wrong?

How many people are denied justice or their rights in the US? I know of a judge that would not listen to the person and she ended up getting punched hard in the face, because of the judge! How do we get rid of bad judges?

Update:

In California, we vote for judges! Do they still have life tenure?

During a litigation against my ex husband, who the kids said molested them, his mother wrote in documents that the kids are lying and went on to say some outrageous lies about me and my family, all of which I proved to be lies to the court.

The judge said that yes, any visit that my ex have with the kids should be supervised. Then he appointed my ex mother in law to be the supervisor!

Yes, that nightmare is all over now. My ex has since terminated all of his parental rights to the children and my husband adopted them. But you can imagine my horrified frustration at that judge's ruling at that time!

My experiences in family court, and the times I have went to traffic court have taught me that the concept of justice is an illusion. Judges have way too much power, are too willing to wield it at their whim. These judges ignore the law where ever they feel they can get by doing what ever they want, with an arrogance that is astounding.

My experiences with lawyers and the many stories I have heard about the problems of dealing with lawyers make my opinion of the system even darker, because essentially, all judges were lawyers first. Most contractors won't work for a lawyer, because lawyers are notorious for refusing to pay, using their court connections to bully anyone who defies their will. They tend to be the most arrogant group on the planet, and show just how much this system needs to be drastically changed.

It seems that this an area of growing concern, and people are becoming more and more concerned about what can be done to change our court system. We have way too many laws that violate our rights without just cause, and too many punishments that do not fit the crimes. The judiciary is the worst area of government, and the more we can do to limit the power of these judges, and open the court system up to allow a fair and balanced way for people to gain justice in this system the better our society will be. Currently we have a closed system that allows lawyers to bilk the populace on a constant basis.

California has a judicial review board and bad judges can be reported to call their conduct into question.

Two times in my career I have had definitely bad judicial actions taken against me.

Once I was defending a man on a spousal abuse charge and the lady judge would not allow me to speak in his defence. She threatened me with contempt of court for offering an alternative fact pattern to the one the lady told. She literally told me "how dare you defend him". I was shocked by her totally closeminded behavior. She had already made up her mind that my client was guilty and would not even entertain an alternative perspective.

The second time was when I was defending a man on multiple outstanding misdemeanors and the judge wanted to give him consecutive sentences instead of concurrent sentences. The judge and prosecutor finally agreed to allow my client to have concurrent sentences so that he would be out by the holidays. We felt satisfied and left. When the papers came to me from the court, they said consecutive instead of concurrent. I stormed back to the court and confronted the judge, prosecutor and the clerk. They all denied that the decision had ever been concurrent. My client and I know better but they had all conspired against us to get what they wanted even if that meant lying to us to get us out of the way.

P.S. some judges are elected and others are appointed. Both need strong cases against them for the Judicial Review Board to take action.

It has got here approximately some cases it merely makes me indignant because of the fact in the event that they had taken the time to truthfully communicate with me or set issues without delay then they could have seen how incorrect they have been. interior the top that's their loss because of the fact they made an enemy rather of a pal. i do unlike being judged and that i hate being judged wrongly or unfairly.

I know of several cases where the judge was wrong, but I don't know what to do about it. Judges have life tenure and they have to be really, realy bad before they get tossed out.

Many people have been denied justice in this country as well as all others.

Whenever I got punched in the face, I tried to avoid putting myself in the same situation in the future. Seems to have worked, as I have never been punched in the face twice by the same person. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool my twice, shame on me...
